A new year
is unfolding
like a blossom
with petals
curled tightly
concealing the
beauty within.
Lord,
let this year
be filled with
the things that
are truly good.
With the comfort
of warmth in
our relationships.
With the strength
to help those
who need our help.
And the humility
And openess
to accept help
from others.
As we make our
resolutions for
the year ahead,
let us go forward
with great hope
that all things
can be possible,
with Your help
and guidance....
A new year
A new day
A new life....
Time of new
beginnings
and the
celebration
of life...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May your year be filled
with peace, prosperity and love.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! (click here to see video)

Glad you liked it. It has always been one of my favorites. Most don’t understand it is truly a gospel song, not an inspriritional one like Jesus Take the Wheel that Carrie does. And no one does it as well as the late Johnny Russell.
Heroes by the Issacs, this one is for all of you with special needs children, because you are their Heroes.

We were just snugged down for sleep, and about then was when the first fire works woke us all the way up. It’s rare for us to ‘see’ in the new year. Hubby had a slice of pie, I had water and watched A Christmas Angel and the rest of the Kenny Rogers special we’ve been watching in bits and pieces for the past 3 days. Love Netflix. :-)

Say, Now!
A new first day! Lets start it right!
Gee, the daylights awfully bright.
Maybe I partied some last night,
Its in the past. Forget it!
Rise and greet the morning sun,
Lots of work still to be done.
Nobody said Life would be fun,
But if it is, well let it!
With exuberance well note,
Cheerful living gets my vote,
A prayer of thanks to Him devote?
Thats the way! You said it!
Someone lead us in a prayer,
If youve got a friend up there,
My examples not too fair,
Not the way Ive led it!
Alright, if you still insist,
No sense trying to resist,
I may get points for being missed,
I hope we wont regret it!
Lord, we humbly bow our head,
And ask again for daily bread,
Let the words be clearly said,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

The Good Life
January 1, 2013
Beauty, wealth, power, love, marriage, and pleasure are good things, but theyre not the best. The best is loving God and taking in His lovebringing Him glory and making Him our friend for life. That leads to the best possible life because it gives us satisfaction and joy now (John 10:10), and its what Christians are going to be doing forever.
Thats why we should make time for God and rest in His lovethe love that made you and me. It is the reason for our existence and the means by which we will make the most of our lives.
I like the way the psalmist put it: It is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works (Ps. 73:28). In other words, the good life is drawing close to the One who loves us like no other.
And how can we draw close to Him? Heres a practice I began many years ago: Take a few minutes every morning to read some verses from the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and note what Jesus said or did. After all, He came to show us what God is like (Heb. 1:1-3). Put yourself in the storyin the place of the leper He healed with His loving touch, for example (Mark 1:40-45). Think about how much He loves you and then thank Him!
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. Crosby
The wonder of it all just to think that Jesus loves me!
