Mexican? Here is my chicken enchilada recipe:
This is one way to get a chicken in every pot.
My recipe:
For the carne el pollo (chicken meat):
2-1/2 cups shredded chicken
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bay leaf minced
2 teaspoons cumin
1-1/2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon minced Serrano pepper
1/2 teaspoon sage
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 red bell pepper chopped
1/2 green bell pepper chopped
1 cup onion minced
2 green onions chopped
Other ingredients:
1/2 cup olives sliced
1 tomato sliced thin
7 burrito sized flour tortillas
10 oz can Old El Paso enchilada sauce
2 cups medium cheddar cheese grated
Peanut oil for frying
Method:
Put enchilada sauce in fry pan on low heat.
Start peanut oil in another fry pan to 350 degrees.
Fry both sides of tortillas in oil, using fork to deflate bubbles. Dip fried tortillas in enchilada sauce and stack in tray.
Put chicken ingredients in tortilla, fold in sides and roll into burrito type tortillas into baking pan.
Lay out tortillas with wise in pan. Cover with remaining enchilada sauce. Layer with cheese, tomatoes and olives. Put in 350 degree oven until bubbly.
Serve with sour cream, your favorite guacamole sauce, and more chopped green onions.
I couldn’t find the White House recipe put there are LOTS of White Turkey Chili recipes here:
The thing I have found when using All Recipes is to read the reviews well - some will mention the same type of things so you get a clue what works well and what doesn’t.
Good luck!
I love that ‘allrecipes’ site for the same reason - the comments under the recipes!
Recipes float around the net but the comment sections are where it’s at....story-telling recipe blogs too - like the Pioneer Woman’s site, detailed instructions and hints.
This is an easy, inexpensive family-style dish that looks like nothing but is incredibly delicious. Originally printed in 1955/56 Betty Crocker Cookbook. Named for Minnesota personality Cedric Adams.

” Add to saucer of olive oil to use as bread-dipping appy.”
Salt, pepper and garlic powder added to the oil kicks it up a notch.
Add a box of frozen peas and pack of sliced mushrooms.
Gourmet folks add sour cream. :-)
That sounds interesting, a ‘lazy stuffed cabbage’.

I like stuffed cabbage but too ‘lazy’ to make it...Perfect
It’s even better than stuffed cabbage-—when you lift the casserole lid-—the cabbage is all steamy and unctuous from the soup that is now a sauce. Adding the hot crusty bread dripping with butter is a must.
The Split Seconds were wonderful. I passed the recipe on to several relatives. I’m always a little nervous about “divide dough into equal parts....” I pressed the dough into a Tupperware container, sliced it, and dumped it out. That worked beautifully and the dough didn’t stick. They’re also quick and easy which is a big plus. This recipe certainly is a winner.
WoW, Thanks for the feed back. Lady Bender will be pleased

FWIW, I took a pricing course in b-school. Among the pricing differences mentioned was that canned salmon usually drops in price during the Jewish holy days.
