Before my boat sank, and I lost all of my guns, I think I had about 20 or so, but the sinking was so sad that much of my gun memory is also gone.
But wow, if I could own five guns, I'd start with an electric Gatling....

I would be perfectly happy with your picks. Mine would be similar.
A Winchester model 52 sporter in .22LR. A Remington 1187 12 gauge with two barrels, one a 26 inch the other an 18 inch, both with multi chokes. An S&W model 29 .44 mag. A SIG P226. I could substitute a Browning Hi-Power, a Colt series 70 1911, or several other 9mm or .45 caliber pistols and be happy.
If I could add a couple more they would be a Colt Woodsman and a Ruger 10/22.

I’m a total gun n00b. Fully support 2nd and AZ’s open carry. Now, my father just gave me a gorgeous Henry 22 Magnum lever action rifle.
How does this rate?

Just picking from my own collection in case of emergency as a go pack:
M1 Garand, Remington 870 12Ga., Ruger .357 Mag, Colt 1911, DPMS AR-15 .308 w/4 x 12 Scope
It is better to have at least one proven Battle Rifle than Sporter’s only

I’ve got three of your five but a Saiga instead of the 700 and a Ruger P89 (2 of them) instead of the 1911. Add a couple not on your list and I’m covered.

Pretty much describes my ‘collection’.
- Mossberg 500 12g pump
-Winchester 300 win mag
-.357 and a .38 revolvers
10/22
Sort of one of each, long range, short range, two revolvers (on for the wife) and a 10/22 just for fun and keeping in practice without the expense of 300 win mag ammo.
Pretty paltry compared to most enthusiasts, but enough for the task at hand. Lots of primers and powder for the 357 and 300.
