Say Obama loses the election and then these emails that Gingrich are talking about surface. And then eventually the videos come out.
Obama has LIED to the American people just like Clinton. Even though he wouldn't be around can elected officials still vote to impeach him? Even though it wouldn't be knocking him out of office per se? Just a mark on his record?
What are the ramifications of impeachment?
It’s been obvious for some time that there is a strata in society that once you reach it, you are never held accountable for anything.
Several:
1) Deliver a message that such malfeasance has repercussions.
2) Put a permanent stain of humiliation on the SOB.
3) Impact his future receipt of pension from the tax payers.
4) Piss the hell out of the Wookie.
Four alone is good enough for me.
Say he doesn’t get impeached.. can he still be tried for treason?
Without the removal what prosecution would he be subject to?
That is what I was thinking.
If he is impeached and convicted, then they could remove his title, pension and protection!
5) Eliminate or at least make it very difficult for Wookie to hold any elected office in the future.
That would be the reason to wait until he’s out of office to impeach him - so he cannot pardon himself or anybody who aided him in his crimes, claim executive privilege to keep critical records hidden, etc.
It’s also why FEDERAL law enforcement would probably want to wait until he’s out of office to try him for crimes as well. Prosecution for state felonies would still work while he was in office because he has no control over state law enforcement. And he has committed perjury in Arizona and at least a couple other states, by submitting sworn statements saying he is Constitutionally qualified to be President, even though Hawaii has now confirmed that his Hawaii birth certificate is non-valid (which means he’s been using a different BC his whole life and knows darn well that he’s not eligible).
And on top of that if we find out he’s from Kenya maybe we could deport him too! LOL
No, impeachment is for removal from office. If an ex-president is getting a pension or some other benefit through the government, that can be cut off through legislation, through law. Not through impeachment.
Impeachment is an indictment for removal from office and nothing more. It ensures that the people control their own government, that those elected or appointed can be removed from office should they cease to act in “good behaviour.”
If he was impeached after he left office he could be compelled to testify, and he would not be able to claim executive privilege on any of the government records.
Since the consequences of conviction on an impeachment are disqualification from any office of trust or profit under the United States, yes, “Obama” could be impeached and convicted after he leaves office.

Hey Admin would you mind fixing my headline? I made a typo.
Thank you!
That is the nation’s Founders’ worst nightmare. If we allow this to stay that way, we are asking for this nation to perish.
Oh that’s another good point. So he CAN be impeached after he leaves office then?
Amen, brother!
That was the whole point of us coming over here.. to get away from “Kings” who aren’t held accountable.
I think someone should submit this to O’Reilly for the Is it legal segment.
If (big if), any talk of impeachment or post election prosecution begins to gain traction with the public, you will quickly see Lord Lindsay and Bohner kill each other to first get their hands on a microphone to tell us that “This is a time for healing” and that it is not in the American interest to do so.
Anyone wanna claim I’m wrong?
