Statement on International Women’s Day
Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks)
Written: March 8, 1949;
As a result of the growth of the national economy of the U.S.S.R., the material and cultural well-being of Soviet women and the entire Soviet people increases from year to year. In the past year alone the real wages of manual and office workers have more than doubled. The new reduction of prices on consumer goods introduced on March 1, is a brilliant testimony to the untiring concern of the Communist Party and the Soviet government for the working people. This price reduction means a further considerable rise in the material well-being of Soviet women and of the entire population.
It’s supposedly not the last before the election.
Do people vote on govt stats, or on their own lives? I imagine most vote on the latter.
This manipulation could backfire big time. If Obama tries to go out and start singing that happy days are here again, people are going to look at him like he is detached from reality.
That's disrespectful. You should call them "burger engineers".
>>Its supposedly not the last before the election.
It’s not. Employment reports are posted at 8:30AM on the first Friday of the month. The next one is Nov 2, the friday before the election. But by then it might not make much of a difference with early voting in many states.
And guess what,,, the number will be lower next month too.
There is always a lot working against a challenger.
Every dem POTUS running for re-election has pulled similar shite.
Of cource there will be some, mainly nobama’s prev. supporters, who buy this 7.8% charade, but there are likely more who see it for what it is.
You need to get back some faith in America!
Figures to be readjusted in late November of course...
“Do FReepers not know this stuff? This is nothing new.”
I did not know it either, but that is why I am here. I appreciate you posting the information. I learn a ton from my fellow FReepers!
Do FReepers not know this stuff? This is nothing new.
Thanks for the heads up...this Freeper DID NOT know that. I don’t have time to follow those exact details. You are obviously on top of this better than some of us here I guess.
LOL! Having been through many dozens of business/operations/finance reviews I would agree. They would be curled up in the corner inside of 10 minutes.
Sorry, didn’t mean to jump on people and come across as cranky. You are right CSM, I also learn a ton from fellow FReepers.
I watch CNBC every morning before work (I start at 11am eastern), so I guess I figured most people knew these reports always came out on the first Friday of every month. The week leading up to it is pretty typical—
Mon “Jobs Report Friday, we’ll tell you how (not) to position your portfolio.”
Tue “Jobs Report this Friday, how will investors react? We have blah blah hedge fund manager.”
Wed “Ahead of the Jobs Report on Friday, we have the ADP report.”
Thurs “Market tanked today on fears of a bad job report on Friday”
Fri “Obama rulez! w00t w00t.” (well except Joe Kernan and Rick Santelli)
