Taking my Cat to the vets tomorrow, just seeking prayers.

One of my cats, Whitey, is sick. Until last Friday, she's been very active and eating a lot until she became kind of skittish and aloof and cut back on her eating. She sleeps a lot and still drinks water but eats sporatically. I think it could be a hyperactive thyroid, I had a similar experience with another cat where she was put on meds and responded well and lived a few years afterward. My other guess is maybe bad teeth, but I point towards the former. I'm hoping it is that or at least something that is treatable. I'm just asking for prayers and well wishes as I take her to the vets tomorrow. She is 11 years old and one time when Obama came on the TV, she swatted at him and hissed. B-)

Whitey seems to be doing OK although she is a very picky eater and when cats are not feeling up to snuff, it can be harder to see what they will eat. We had another cat back in 2002, Muffin, our Burmese cat, live 2.5 years with CRF. We had trouble finding out what she liked so the vet said to try baby food to get her to eat and put calories into her and we are doing the same with Whitey. Whitey ate quite a bit of the food. After we give her the IV, she sleeps a lot since she doesn’t like it and it tends to disrupt the routine as the vet said so we let her sleep and rest. The next day, she is up and eats a lot more. She still walks a little slow, but she’s been through a lot. She only thew up a couple of times but they were hairballs. I’m cautiously optimistic here although we have to take it day by day.

I have to announce the passing of my cat, Whitey. Her CRF must have been worse than we thought. B-(( we thought we had it but.... what can I say, it is hard to see the screen as I type this. We lost her 30 minutes ago. She is survived by her mother Spunky and adopted brother Rascal. She is with her two brothers now. I find it quite amazing and disturbing that we can send probes into interstellar space but can't do more for our little ones. I'm bummed......
Romney's gotta win, for Whitey. Whitey was a true patriot, she swatted Obama on the TV screen as she hissed at him. As I push the button for Romney, I'll say, "for Whitey...."
Slings, I pinged you so you can ping the list, I want to thank all of yuns for your support.

Been there, and done that.
It's the price you pay. It always sucks, and it's always worth it.

Awww. Sorry to hear that Whitey has passed. Wish there was something I could say to make it better, but I’ve been there, and I know that no words can take away the emptiness you are feeling at this time. God bless.

I am very sorry for your loss.
Here is a link to a great poem that we read in our family when we have to unwillingly part from any beloved cat.

When I cast my vote for Romney I will remember Whitey too!

So sad to read about your loss of “Whitey” Nowhere Man. Yesterday we lost one of ours, but it was expected as he was 18, and the signs were there it was time to go.
We grieve with you.

I know it probably ID's me as a sociopath, but the most torn up I ever got over losing someone was my beloved half-blind Siamese buddy. Never been closer to anyone, though if something happened to my beautiful wife of 22 years, things could go even worse.
Out little buddies ask so little of us, and give so much just for being there for them. You brought a little one happiness on earth, even for a too short time. Be glad for that. Some never do anything like that.

Thanks all. It is hard but I know my wounds will heal. We will lay her to rest tomorrow. We were doing pretty good but she took a nosedive today.

I am so sorry to hear this. All us kitteh lovers grieve with you, NM. Sometimes there is nothing more that can be done no matter how much money we spend. The covenant we make when we take in a pet is that we love them and care for them, making them part of our family, yet fully knowing that we will outlive them most of the time. For all the pain and heartbreak their passing brings to us it cannot compare to the joy and love they give us back. I will hug and kiss my two “babies” extra tonight in honor of Whitey. I'm praying that our Lord will comfort you. He is the "God of all comfort".

Just saw the ping and read the thread. So sorry for your loss =(.
It sounded like she was going to pull through. Went through the same with mine. When our kitties go, they seem to go so quickly it’s shocking.

So sorry for your loss. I have tears in my eyes as I type this, knowing all too well how difficult it is to lose our little furry buddies. Praying for God’s comfort and grace.
To: Nowhere Man
I’m so sorry you lost Whitey. You’ve done a great job as the keeper of a small, furry part of the Creation.
