I just saw 2016 today, it finally moving to a theater in my neighborhood. I thought it was just terrific, very well done and very persuasive. I'd be very interested to see what others think, especially fellow FReepers.
If a majority of Americans are stupid and gullible enough to re elect him, then they deserve what they get. The problem is, the rest of us will suffer with them. So will my children. I can't abide that. After watching 2016 I just became a fervent Romney/Ryan supporter.
D’Souza’s theory on Obamas anti-colonialism is spot on. I like his reference to how he grew up.
Agreed. I did see it and learned nothing that I had not already known. It was a good presentation for those who do not read a lot.
Family and friends;
Mark and I just returned from seeing the movie "2016 Obama's America" by Dinesh D'Souza.
Very powerful and insightful film about Obama's view and plan for America and what his next term could look like if re-elected.
How does someone that hates American so much come to so much power? You'll find out in this film.
This is not a push to vote for Romney - trust me on this. However - this film was very, very sobering. Once I saw it I realized this election is not about Democrats or Republicans -it's about saving our country and our way of life.
I encourage all of you to see it soon. It will make you pause and wonder - seriously & deeply wonder what happened to us as a nation that we could find ourselves in the situation!
Very scary not only for our future, but more importantly for our children's and grandchildren's future.
That was the essence of the comment I made to my bride after it was over: Too bad we’re not the ones who need convincing.
Saw it yesterday. Happy to say it was playing in the largest seating capacity theater at the Regal 10 in liberal Bethesda Merryland. We did the 4:15pm and it was maybe 25% filled, but if it’s in that theater it must be getting big evening crowds.
I was however disappointed that I learned relatively nothing new. Additionally, since his father had very little influence over the Marxist 0bama I don’t know why so much time was spent on him. Conversely I think more time should have been spent on 0bama’s direct communist influences like Franklin Marshall Davis , his grandfather and the rest. I don’t think he defended himself when Jake Tapper called he work “unscholarly” at all.
For me a C+ because I’m a political junky and heard/read it all before. For the casual non political A-.
The theater tonight in Glenview, IL was pretty empty. The movie was excellent.
Yeah, like stating emphatically that Hussein was born in Hawaii. I'm not big on the birther issue but I'm pretty sure there is no solid proof of that.
I have seen it 3 times now...the first it’s premier showing here in Houston. Took my granddaughter who was in from out of town and going to college in Vermont...then my neighbor she probably wasn’t going to vote but now will, then this last week took my husband. Our theater on a Monday night had over 50 people...I was amazed so many. My husbands reaction was WOW - worst horror movie he has seen...and creeped out. How our country could have been so deceived....all with 3 little words HOPE AND CHANGE....all empty promises. D’Souza read from Obama’s book most of the time...granted he did not directly interview Obama but the readings from Obama’s own writings were enough.....and how it all tied together. So sad his father was a polygamist (sp) and then his mom remarried the man from Indonesia who went to work eventually in the oil industry. When he was transferred to California with the oil industry....she did not want to attend the company parties...and make sure the husband knew these us white folks were not her people...she left him moving Obama to Hawaii where her folks lived and the grandfather found a mentor for Obama...Obama’s mom was definitely communist leaning and that is where Frank Marshall Davis comes in....and by the way all of this is read from Obama’s writings. The liberals now would like to say that D’Souza never interviewed Obama on any of this but he did read it from the man’s own words and interviewing his half-brother in Kenya. Matter-of-fact just recently the president’s half brother needed money for a medical bill he did not call Obama for help but D’Souza...think that should say alot. Actually, Obama should have helped his own family out with some of his book royalties. If I messed up on any of this sorry. TAKE THE BABIES AND GRAB THE OLD LADIES AND TAKE THEM TO THE MOVIES!
I have not ..but I did just see Axelrod on Fox News..He could not give a straigt answere on anything..Budget is all about no ideas from Romney Ryan..and “the republicans wont give us another 4 trillion to create jobs...Lol would any of us give them another 4 trillion..they can’t eve say where the last 4 million went..its jut up on smoke..more of the same construction and first responder jobs..that market is glutted.
I saw it this past Monday at 4:50 in the afternoon. Theater was half full. It seemed like the only movie getting action based on 4 customers saying, “2016” in succession when approaching the cashier.
It was an older crowd, (silver-haired), at the showing I attended.
I saw very few under 30 in attendance.
Black Americans in attendance gave me heart!
I saw it. I believe it was well done. It will freak out the left. It should provoke thought in any open minded or intellectually honest person. I was familiar with De Souza’s thesis, he did numerous print and media interviews for his book.
Where I saw it, the theater room was quite tiny. There were about 20-25 people in a room which could probably have held 60 people. Everyone seemed to be very moved by the picture. I took a friend with me who I felt might be sitting on the fence. She wanted to know afterward how D’Souza knew what he knew, and what would the other side say? How biased was this film? And other questions which I felt did not need asking. I was really rather surprised that she did not express the same relief that “someone else GETS it!” that everyone else seemed to.
and,
"that sort of mindset will lead them to believe anything, no matter how absurd, or disbelieve anything, no matter how damning the proof, if it will simply allow them to keep believing what perpetuates their world view."
I thought of this quote:
As Alice said, "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"
I believe 2016: Obama's America has opened up in you profound insights into the insanity of the totalitarian Left.
Great movie. The truth is getting out.
My husband and son wanted to see it and talked me into going, lured with a fantastic dinner plan.
It makes me sick, actually, to think Americans put him in power. I knew it all before I went. Seeing it all put together on the screen... It was like a nightmare to me.
All of us were terrorized, like we had visited the local airport and had an disgusting communist agentbot’s hands probing our croches. We were quiet on the way home.
My wife and I saw it today too. Thorough and well done. I noticed that, while the theater was not full, there were many people there.
I saw it last weekend. Thought that it was well done, but I disagree with the premise.
I think that Obama’s mother had much more influence on his life. She was raised by communist parents, so she followed in her parents footsteps when she raised her son. I think that Barry was also influenced by his stepfather and being raised in the Indonesian culture.
In typical Barry fashion he wants you think that he was influence by his dead father, but he doesn’t want you to see the communist influence from his maternal side. Barry knows that the Communist label doesn’t wear too well here in the U.S. with the general public. It is the kiss of death when running for office.
I must respectfully disagree with those who say there is nothing new in the movie. I thought I knew just about everything about his early influences, (Davis, Wright, Ayers, etc.) But who is this Unger guy? Apparently a lefty radical professor, who went to a South American country (Argentina?) to shape hearts and minds, and was THROWN OUT for being too radical! He returned to the faculty position at HARVARD, where he could be amongst his fellow travelers! What the H! Why haven’t I heard of this guy before? Glad I saw the movie. Well done, Dinesh!
