Cliffs:

-Carina Saunders, 19, was a drug user who was hanging around the wrong crowd.

-believed she was killed by a human and drug trafficking gang to intimidate female witnesses so they would cooperate with the gang's demands. Ruiz (the perp) said Saunders “was going to be ‘dealt with” to the other female witnesses

-Carina was tied to a table and tortured. Had her hands and feet cut off with saw while she was alive

-Perps made video of the whole event

-Perps made two other women watch (lawyer of one of the witness says the victim was still alive and the video was made for a snuff film to be sold-in another link)

-Perps told the other women if they did not fall in line the same thing would happen to them.

-Woman friend of one of the perps saw the video later and went to the police and the 2 perps arrested.

The death penalty makes it impossible for the murderer to ever commit another murder.

Not that this girl deserves what happened to her because she was a drug user and hanging with the wrong crowd.

But, a tip for you youngsters out there, don’t be a drug user and hang with the wrong crowd...

This is horrible — but why are we reading about it in a UK newspaper? Instead of talking about the cast of Twilight, *this* is news is news that should be shared. No one should have to go through this.

Errrr??, Do they still burn people at the stake? Maybe we should consider it in some cases?

It's been news here. The UK papers, primarily the Mail like to run our stories with large headlines.

She was trying to get out that that lifestyle is why she was killed. She received threatening text messages from the peprs which she turned over to the police..and then she was killed the next day.

From another link:

Saunders' mother has been a part of Cowan's small Mustang church since it formed two years ago. He's been ministering to her ever since Saunders' dismembered body was found last week.

"She specifically told us I'm not going to give up; I'm not going to give up on God,"

Cowan said it wasn't even a month ago that Carina sat in his sanctuary for services and filled out a card. On the back, Carina marked the space that says "I made the decision to give my life to Jesus today".

“The death penalty makes it impossible for the murderer to ever commit another murder.”

Exactly the point I bring up when people try to say the death penalty is not a deterrent. I have yet to see anyone who has received the death penalty commit another crime of any kind.

These aren’t men to be executed. They’re animals to be put down.

Their lawyers will keep them from getting executed for twenty years or more but demand the death of an innocent baby in less than six months.

You need to blur the line in the perps mind (for crimes like this) as to whether or not they have actually gotten to hell yet. IMO, cruel and unusual is only such if it’s arbitrarily and capriciously administered and to the obvious entertainment of the administrator.

The death penalty makes it impossible for the murderer to ever commit another murder.

Texas learned the hard way. Back in about the 70s, they wimped out and reduced the death penalty down to life which meant some of the sickos had already served that amount of time so were set free to wander the streets. You get one guess what happened. Needless to say, Texas has the death penalty again and hopefully for always.

I simply can not imagine the hellish end she met. How is it possible for a human to become so cruel to a child?? to stand there and listen to her screams and pleas and not be bothered by it???

The one woman witness was so trauamtized while she watched it out she jumped out of the end story window to escape while it was going on. According to another link, Carina suffered other tortures the police are not allowing to be brought forth at this time.

Poor girl.

To: wyowolf; All

My oldest grandchild went through HELL by her mother. The mother would drag her through the house by the hair, slaming her up against the walls; and all sorts of horrors were perpetrated upon her by a drug-addicted mother.

Even then, other family members did nothing (even though they were witnesses to most of the acts). I took my grandchild for a supposed 2 week stay - and hid her until we could get guardianship over her (with the help of the DA’s office and an outraged Judge). We also got help from the Social Services people who (after interviewing her) were convinced she should not return to her mother.

Usually, these things happen because of drug use. The mother had been using drugs since she was very young. She had 2 children by 2 different fathers, and was not married at the time she lost custody of her daughter.

I was the first person who ever made the mother accountable for her actions; all her other relatives were as co-dependent as she was. She did finally get her act together - after she lost tempory custody of 3 other children children. She got married, got religion and turned her whole life around.

It was not easy to take a risk with another person’s life - but my grandchild had a much better life living with her Aunt and Uncle - who gave her a great upbringing. She is now married and attending Bible school - while her husband (who’s absolutely terrific) is working a full-time job.

I wrote about this in my book “Miracles Upon Miracles”.

"IMO, cruel and unusual is only such if it’s arbitrarily and capriciously administered and to the obvious entertainment of the administrator."

In sexual harassment law, much of what constitutes harassment is actually defined by the perception of the victim. i.e., if you tell a joke with no offense intended, but somebody takes it the wrong way, you are guilty of harassment.

Perhaps the same standards should be applied to the definition of "cruel and unusual." In as much as these two fellows felt that vivisection was a perfectly appropriate avenue for their victim, they would be hard pressed to argue that it was cruel and unusual once they've been sentenced to the same.
