Spaces in a new car park in the Black Forest town of Triberg now come with male and female symbols. The spaces for women are wider and well lit, while those for men are close to concrete pillars and can only be reversed into. Explaining the policy, Mayor Gallus Strobel said it was a natural decision because men are better at parking than women.
"In the new car park we found that two place were not rectangular, at an angle to the road and placed between walls and pillars; that makes parking difficult so we decided to allocate them to men," the 58 year-old mayor told Germany's Spiegel magazine.
But, he added, that there were great women drivers, and all women were welcome to try and park in the men-only spaces. Mr Strobel, who denies accusations of sexism, also pointed out that 10 spaces were reserved for women as opposed to just two for men.
So far the mayor says he has received mostly positive feedback despite expecting some "humourless reactions from the political correct" and being accused by one angry female critic of exhibiting "male pig-headedness. One man, the mayor reported, said he would travel to the town just to try the parking.

100% of all spaces are spaces for women.
Men are limited in their choices, as some spaces are just off-limits.
Like our race-based affirmitive action, this seems to do favors for some people while punishing others (for no reason) and also sending the message that the "beneficiaries" are just incompetent people who can't make it on their own.
I can parallel park with no problem (lived in an apartment with no off street parking) and squeeze my car into the tiniest of parking spaces (parking at the University parking lots where the belief is that all cars are compacts and you need no more that 6” between cars)
My husband couldn’t do it if his life depended on it. We actual joke about it any time he has to park my car.

Hold your index finger and thumb apart a short distance (like Maxwell Smart’s “missed it by that much!”).
The reason women have bad spacial relation recognition is they spend their whole life thinking that is 8 inches...
;)
While your analysis is true, watch what the reaction will be: A whole bunch of females getting up in a lather over the issue, because they’re so bad at mathematics that they can’t do the set analysis to see that they’re coming out at the best end of this deal.
hmmm.
Are all the spaces pull-through? I LOVE a pull-through!
But women are invited to “try” the men's spaces.
It had better be a female oriented business or service, because no male will use it. Chip-on-the-shoulder militant feminists will occupy the men's spaces trying to prove a point, even if it takes them an hour to wedge their Smart Car into it.
Ah, some emory paper and scotch-brite pads and that’ll buff right out.
In New Jersey, I joke that the Garden State Parkway is for women, the Turnpike is for men, and the Turnpike truck lanes are for real men. No one but me finds it particularly funny.
Do you really believe that men are only allowed to park in 16% of the spaces and women, 100% of them?
This bozo is offensively insulting to women. Should we start marking books that are challenging reading in the library for whites and Asians only?
Get a clue.
I initially thought this was satire. I guess the unintended consequences of more, good parking spots is a plus. I’m 53. I got a speeding ticket when I was 18. I had an accident in my 30’s that wasn’t my fault (rear ended.) My husbands driving record, well, thankfully points drop off a license over time. It must be darn near a miracle I got both a motorcycle and a pilot’s license.
I work in insurance claims and will always park further down the row to try and find a pull-through space. Back to the humor however, do the women’s spaces have guard rails on both sides? :o)
It's not my fault. :)
LOL!
