The dog was an 86-pound male Alapaha, said Mike Retzlaff, director of operations for SPCA Cincinnati. SPCA is also caring for two 10-week old puppies found at the apartment. They are believed to be Alapahas as well. SPCA will hold onto all the animals while the police investigate, he said.
