Received the above screed and link via freepmail, clicked on it and sure enough it's there.

To any FReepers who agree with these anti-freepers:

Why bother with FR if it causes you so much pain and grief? Please do not let your hatred for me or FR fester to the point that you go stark raving mad. Just do the adult thing and change the channel.

We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-family, pro-Liberty, pro-traditional American constitutional conservatism on FR and we are funded by gifts made to us by our readers and participants who agree with our goals of defending our God-given Liberty, our constitution, and re-establishing constitutionally limited government in our beloved nation, and who agree that our endeavors here are worthwhile and worth funding. Those who do not agree with our goals or endeavors, by all means should not participate in our fundraising efforts or on our forum.

Thank you all very much for your participation and for making FR the premier traditional American CONSERVATIVE site on the Net!!

God Bless.

19. I know that you have been given a priceless gift and honor of ENORMOUS potential good for the Nation, millions of individuals and the Body of Christ. And you & your leadership team have appeared to squander horrendous chunks of that potential on pettiness, personal pique, arrogance, stubbornness, meanness, willful blindness and willful ignorance. I know that many thousands of people in and out of the Body of Christ who COULD HAVE BEEN FITTINGLY AND USEFULLY WARNED about the spiritual and practical hazards of satanic globalism as well as the fallen angel UFO stuff have not been warned because of y’all’s junk and the junk of the likes of JeanS and Dirtboy and their cadre of harpies. To the degree THAT is true, there will be embarrassing amounts of blood on such hands, come judgment day—unless confession and repentance are heart-felt effected before then—and even then, though it may cover such sins redemptively with Christ’s blood—it will not save thousands who would have otherwise been saved had such a sobering responsibility been carried more fittingly and Biblically earlier.

Wow. I'm an agent of the anti-Christ.

That sucks, I would think I could have at least gotten a new Buick out of that arrangement.

You know... I think all that screeching would resonate so much better if I were high.

I mean stoned to bone. Tripping with a fat ol’ joint.

Then I could appreciate the points about the carpet and the paint.

But I’m “FARRR TOOOOOOO” old for that nonsense.

I am a member of a church. I’m not happy about everything that goes on there.

Have worked a number of jobs in my lifetime. None of them were perfect.

I am a member of certain shopping clubs. I don’t particularly care for everything associated with them.

I go to restaurants. There are times when I’m not happy with all aspects of one of them.

I have a bank account. I’m not happy with every policy at my bank.

I have credit accounts. I’m not happy with every aspect of each account.

I live in California. God knows I’m not happy with everything going on at the state, country, or even city level here.

I have auto insurance. I’m not happy with every aspect of that.

I have health insurance. I’m not happy with every aspect of that.

I have dental insurance. I’m not happy with every aspect of that. In fact, I’m not thrilled with every aspect of my dental service provider.

I have a Junior College on my doorstep. You know, I’m not happy with everything going on there.

I live a pretty good life. I’m not happy with everything going on.

There are literally thousands of aspects of my life that I could point to, that fall just a little bit short of what I would ideally like to see.

My personal take on all this? It’s no big deal really. Every morning I wake up and choose to participate or not. We all have choices don’t we.

If I don’t like something involved in my life enough, I remove it from my life.

If for instance, I find that I can’t accept what’s going on at my church, I move my membership somewhere I like more. And if I elect to do so, the last thing I’m going to do is dwell on what was or is taking place at the prior church in the future.

If I have a business relationship and I don’t like it, I move on. And when I move on, I don’t look back and carp about the business, or try to get my friends to join me.

Folks, if it has come to the place where F. R. isn’t your cup of tea any longer, then do what makes you happy. Leave, forget about F. R., and get on with your happier life. And yes, I actually do hope you are happier. It’s okay with me. I like seeing people happy.

I honestly don’t like everything about F. R., but I don’t like everything about my wife, or if you get right down to it, even myself. Why must F. R. be a place of pure perfection? Only one man has ever been known to be perfect. Jim Robinson and I aren’t that guy. I screw up, and since Jim is human too, I expect him to make a mistake once in a while.

Big deal.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can leave F. R. because it makes them so unhappy, and then spend the rest of their lives talking about Free Republic at length.

Are they that masochistic? Really?

I’ve weighed my options. I’m still here. I’m supporting the place when I can.

If you’ve gone through this process like I have, and still find this a great place to come, I hope you’ll join me when you can afford it.

All the best...

Whatever you do, decide to be happy. It’s a choice.

I’m new to the Opus and was wondering where you think this beauty ranks on the overall scale?

For me, given its incoherent and self-righteously obsessive nature, I’m surprised its author didn’t hold out for getting the NY Times to print it in lieu of a mail bombing campaign.

“Off the rails” would assume there were ever any rails there to begin with.

The number of odd post I’ve had directed to me from that poster is probably higher than any but the one who posts in multi-colors.

A lot of time and many changes since the Whiter Water Board days. The vast majority of them were/are improvements to the site. Life is not without change and either one accepts it or not. Personally, I would not have posted this screed on the site, but that is not my choice and whether the originator agrees or not (which he so in-elequently wrote) you are the owner of the site and can do what you want, when you want to do it.

I also don't particularly enjoy the manner the solicitation of funds are needed, but I can't think of an improvment other than charging for site use and I know you have not wanted to do that or advertisements since the beginning.

Don't let the noids get you down. You do own the premier site for conservatives to meet and discuss the issues we are passionate about. Unfortunately, every general election cycle it gets a bit crazy and some folks take themselves way more seriously than they should, but that is the nature of the beast. Pretty easy to get callous and throw invective when one is behind a screen at a keyboard.

I, for the most part still strongly enjoy the site. Should there come the time that I don't, I will just quitely slide into the sunset. I try real hard, these days, not to take myself so seriously.

Thanks for the work through the years and Happy Birthday America!

Hi Jim,

Regarding Quix and the Anti-FReepers (sounds like a bad garage band):

  1. Illegitimi Non Carborundum (Don't let the bassturds wear you down)

  2. Over the years, Free Republic has given much more than it has received -- to FReepers, lurkers, all; to American politics; to America.

  3. In particular, personally, FR has given me knowledge, perspective, entertainment, and a huge amount to think seriously about.

  4. FR has enhanced my spiritual self, by exposure to and exchanges with so many devout folks who see more clearly than I do, and whose vision has helped improve my own.

  5. Unfortunately, some folks can't see a good thing without wanting to destroy it; can't see a pretty picture without wanting to deface it. Their loss.

Carry on, Jim, and God Bless you, the FR staff, and this wonderful forum. And God Bless America! (She needs it more than the rest of us.)

Quix was actually good comic relief... in that vein I’m sorry to see him explode. There has been way to much of that here lately... all par for the course.

I remember him/her climbing up my butt for simply making an observation on a thread about some UFO.
Kinda like he did to txnativegop on this thread:

Although it wasn’t as long and drawn out as this one.

If someone has a beef with you or FR, why can’t they just leave? Why do they always have to post a screed on their way out the door?

Thank you all very much for your participation and for making FR the premier traditional American CONSERVATIVE site on the Net!!

I think this about you every time I log in, which is almost every day.

Thank you Jim Robinson for all you do. I couldn't read it all, but Quix makes even less sense on the religious forums.
