Sorry it took so long to respond.

I’m doing pretty good now after the surgery in March. I’ve regained 18 pounds and my energy seems to be back to normal.

Have an appt with my surgeon/urologist on the 19th. Gotta get some lab work and an x-ray done before the visit. I’m taking a gift for him - a set of my Stars & Stripes windchimes. He saved my life plus he’s an AF Academy Grad and served time in the Air Force.

Glad you like it, Dave! That picture has moved me since the first time I ever saw it, almost 40 years ago. I was taking a class in Photography and the prof introduced us to Gene Smith's work. This single iconic image would be enough to secure a place for him among the greats, but it is only one of a plethora of great photographs he produced during his long career.

Sweet Slumber

Photographer Anne Geddes has made an art form out of taking pictures of sleeping babies. Her photos evoke smiles. Nothing is a better image of peace than a sleeping child.

But between naps and nighttime, caring for children is an exhausting and relentless responsibility. In their innocence and enthusiasm, children can get themselves into life-threatening situations in no time. After a hectic day of chasing, entertaining, protecting, feeding, dressing, guarding, guiding, and making peace between squabbling siblings, parents are eager for bedtime. After the toys are put away and the pajamas are put on, the sleepy toddler slows down, cuddles with mom or dad for a bedtime story, and finally falls asleep. Later, before putting themselves to bed, parents check on their children one more time to make sure all is peaceful in dreamland. The serene beauty of a sleeping child makes all the day’s frustrations worthwhile.

Scripture indicates that God’s ideal condition for His children is peace (Lev. 26:6), but too often in our immaturity we get into trouble and cause conflict. Like parents of young children, God desires for us to become weary of wrongdoing and to rest in the safety and contentment of His loving ways.

Lord, help me not to squabble and cause friction
with others about unimportant matters.
May I instead find rest in Your love and wisdom,
and seek peace. Amen.

A post from the Texas board..Grin

Due to the popularity of the “Survivor” shows, The state of Texas is planning to do one entitled: Survivor, Texas Style

The eight (8) contestants will all start in Dallas, then drive to Waco, Austin, San Antonio. Then over to Houston & down to Brownsville. They will proceed up to Del Rio, El Paso, Odessa, Midland, Lubbock & Amarillo. From there they will go on to Abilene & Fort Worth .

Finally, back to Dallas. Each will be driving a pink Prius with eight bumper stickers that read:

1 ~ I’m a Democrat
2 ~ Amnesty for Illegals
3 ~ I love the Dixie Chicks
4 ~ Boycott Beef
5 ~ I Voted for Obama
6 ~ George Strait Sucks
7 ~ Re-elect Obama in 2012 &
8 ~ I’m here to confiscate your guns

The first one to make it back to Dallas alive wins.
