Earlier, we posted about our new MacBook Airs, which, still in only their first days of use, have been freezing and crashing like crazy. This generated some great discussion threads, from both readers and writers alike.
Apparently, we're not the only ones with this MacBook bug!
Chrome will continue to be my favorite browser for now, but if it keeps this up I may be forced to go back to IE, I won't go back to FF.
This is of interest to you and your pinglist, and look I am not attacking Apple!
Google doesnt play well with macs in general, I gather. One more reason to get away from it if you can. Google IS the Evil Empire.
The recent upgrade to Adobe Flash has been doing a hit job on FireFox. It causes videos (youtube, etc.) to attempt to load, but fail.
Firefox 13 has its own problems, too, however.
I went back to FF12 and found that Adobe Flash 10 will work with it. But Adobe Flash requires ver 11 for IE9. [Both Flash versions can be installed — just install 10 for FF, but install 11 for IE.]

Too many times, upgrades and updates create more problems than they fix.
Have you tried Safari?
Yeah, I’ve been using Firefox on all platforms (Linux, Windows, and Mac) for consistency purposes, but it’s starting to suck so bad I’m ditching it for Safari on the Mac, at least. Google gets enough of my data without me giving it more via Chrome.
Safari is still my fave when using my Air having no problems what so ever
Have used Safari on my Macs for years now. No problem. A hiccup now and then, but nothing more. Currently in use on my 11 inch Mac Air.
I use Safari. I rarely go on the net with my PC. I have to use google chrome on my MBA however to get streaming Netflix. Only time I use it.
I agree the upgrade schedule for FF is ruining it. I had issues with memory leaks with FF for awhile but it seemed that after they fixed that issues it started being more unstable and tabs crashing. Adobe was a prime culprit in that as well as scripts. I will give FF this though, if Adobe crashes you can simply reload the tab and not restart the browser like you would with Chrome.
I haven’t in awhile.
The same could be said of Toyota inadvertent accelerations.
That would be a useful parallel if Mac users were pounding on the machine with a hammer prior to the crash. Don’t hold the operating system responsible when a third-party application fails.
In the case of Toyota, there never were any inadvertent accelerations. Stupid drivers stepped on the wrong pedal.
I use a small footprint browser, QtWeb, to load quickly and watch videos.
It will run several ‘comparable’ browser engines.
I changed my search from google to ask and then to
I immediately noticed a difference. You know how you go a site and click and the next thing you know that site is everywhere you go? Any ads you click on, same thing.
Once I changed to duck duck, it didn’t happen anymore. I also cleaned out all my cookies and haven’t had any problems.
Look at the bottom left on the duck duck site.

Very cool.
At the rate of Google's "updates" it'll either get fixed soon (ha!) or get worse. The recent revision changed how updates are done and it will prompt certain firewalls to ask for permission to connect several times every few hours. The kfetch updater is newly created in a temporary location each time so it can't be given permission "forever."
There's a persistent bug related to Flash in Chrome that makes the mouse pointer vanish.
Thanks, Aft. I will ping the list.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
I like the Camino browser for my Macs but it is not rendering some pages correctly since my update to 10.7.4. I have Safari and FireFox but I have used Camino for so long that I am reluctant to change.
