A former child actor, who enjoyed fleeting fame on the 1980s comedy “Small Wonder,” is reportedly broke and homeless —and blames a stripper for his troubles.
Down-on-his-luck actor Jerry Supiran, 39, also claimed a crooked money man contributed to his current situation, living under a bridge in central California, according to The National Enquirer. The former child actor played adorable preteen Jamie Lawson, who was the brother of his adopted sister, Vicki, a robot made by their dad.
“When I was 18, I dated a stripper and she took what was left of my trust fund —then one of my advisers stole a half-million dollars from me,” Supiran told the supermarket tab.
The has-been actor’s final stop to homelessness came when he after losing his job as a waiter. “I’ve worked at different steakhouses for the last 15 years,” he said.
“But two years ago, I was laid off from a restaurant in Henderson, Nev., due to the economy. I haven’t been able to find a job since.”
In addition to “Small Wonder,” Supiran has credits for “Little House on the Prairie,” “St. Elsewhere,” “Mr. Belvedere” and “Highway to Heaven.”
“It’s been very tough,” Supiran said. “I had to move back to central California where my brother lives with his family. And while he helps me with hot meals and a shower, he doesn’t have the room for me to stay there. So I either sleep at the homeless shelter I volunteer at, or under a local bridge.”

i’m sorry, but i don’t feel a lot of pity for him...had I a half million dollar trust, I certainly wouldn’t have made his decisions.
Couldn’t he clean himself up and make an appearance at one of the California “Comic Cons” or an autograph signing show? 80’s sitcom stars are very much in demand, he could make decent appearance fees and all he would have to do is show up and sign his name for a few hours.
I would blame his situation on extraordinary stupidity.
And these Hollywood liberals will vote for Obama again.
I interact with homeless people almost everytime I go to work. I can guarantee that alcohol, and drugs played a major role in his situation.
There must be a hidden element to this story. Drug addiction is my guess.
I was going to say "very fleeting" because I seem to recall that show got pulled after only a handful of episodes, but according to wikipedia it actually ran for 4 seasons. I think I only watched it once or twice and it was truly idiotic, even by 80's sitcom standards.
Exactly, if you had 15 minutes of fame ever hit the freaking con circuit. He won’t get appearance fees like a Trek star but he should make at least as much as he was as a waiter. Comicons are everywhere, just had the Phoenix one last weekend.
Naturally it isn't HIS fault. Nothing to do with the bad decisions HE made. It's the stripper's fault. WELL JUST MAYBE if he hadn't blown his money stuffing hundred dollar bills in her whatever for what came later he wouldn't have these problems. And the fact the he drained his trust fund indicates that he didn't do it until he reached an age where he could access the trust fund. So screw him (the stripper surely did and he probably enjoyed it at the time) Let him find work or starve.

most of us had to get by without six figure trust accounts. he threw his money away and now it’s someone else’s fault. I bet that had someone warned him, he would have blamed the person trying to warn him.

The kid wasn’t cute and couldn’t act. And it was all his own fault. Why is this a story? Because we like to look at the aftermath of a train wreck sometimes.
I can’t drum up any sympathy for stories like these.
So he spent most of his money on a stripper and wasted the rest.
I remember that Small Wonders was on our local channel around dinner time on a Saturday evening after the sports coverage was over and they needed a filler before the local evening news came on.
It reminded me of the type of low quality production that an obnoxious furniture store or used car dealership would pull off.
My Daughter (5-6 yrs old) liked the show.
