A Foxnews.com story without the word "mom?"

Oh wait, the word "mom" appears 5 times on the page, just in links to other stories.

Sigh.

I remember when the U.S. had a space program.

We still have a space program. Unfortunately all of the satellites are called drones and are going to be used to spy on us.

I remember when we had an even more precious thing called FREEDOM!

Sure appreciate the effort....but it’s so large, virtually half of it now is cut off. Dang. I want the whole banana for my desktop........

You’re a champ.

Not sure of pixel height/depth...but it’s a 24” flat panel Viewsonic running 1920x1080 res.

Then the problem is the viewing properties of your browser.

The pic is only 1596 x 918

Save the pic and then set it as wallpaper...see what happens.

Well, still looks exactly as you posted it above.....but damn it’s gorgeous as a desktop (even if it’s only half the earth).

What I need is the original version they published, uncropped. I can resize, change, res, etc. easily if needed. Have you found that? The image in the original post is missing a good chunk of the Southern hemisphere.

I was just doing graphics with what I could snatch a screen cap of the video...

If ya find it tho...let me know!

Stephen Wright used to have a map of the United States that was actual size. The scale in the lower left hand corner read;"1 mile = 1 mile".

Last summer he folded it.

Here is a work around. Go to Gigapan of Earth Photo

Then click on 'full screen button on left (a box with four arrows). Adjust the zoom as needed . Then press PrintScrn. Finally you need to paste it into a graphics program to save as a jpg or a bmp or what ever you need for your operating system.

OK, good shot of the Indian Ocean, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Russia etc.

Where is the one of the United States? Oh, never mind, we don’t get one do we? We don’t have a space program anymore do we? We just spy on our citizens don’t we?

Somehow role reversal with Russia comes to mind.

Check this one out....I like it even better:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gsfc/6760135001/sizes/l/in/photostream/

I selected “Large 1024”....then right click on it, select “Set as Desktop Background” (I’m using Win 7).

Stunning.
