The latest Rasmussen polls suggest that Obama's extensive record of accomplishment might not be enough to earn him another 4 years in the White House. Unfortunately, a defeat in November would still leave him with 2 1/2 months to do as much damage as possible before he leaves office
I'd like to throw a question out to my fellow FReepers:
What is Obama likely to do with his remaining power in order to "fundamentally transform" the United States? Will he be held back in any way by concerns over how the country views him afterward? Whereas Bill Clinton was obsessed with his legacy, I think Obama is more obsessed with achieving his leftist goals by any means necessary--legacy be damned.
A few ideas:
1) More Unreciprocated Concessions to Russia - This will surprise no one since our Quisling-in-Chief already telegraphed an upcoming betrayal in his "hot mic" moment with Medvedev. - MODERATELY LIKELY
2) Packing the Supreme Court - Some trial balloons have been floated around this one lately, but I think that's too audacious even for Obama. - UNLIKELY
3) Worst Pardons Ever - Leftist cretins shouting "Free Mumia!" are likely to get their wish from an embittered, racist President spending his final few days in office. Expect some of the worst people in the world to receive their Get out of Jail Free card in January 2013 - HIGHLY LIKELY
Get ready people cause it won't be pretty. We need to armend to the teeth.
From an article in the National Ledger.com by Cliff Kincaid (editor of Accuracy in Media) Feb 12, 2008, info about the Convention on the Rights of the Child was frightening...part of the Millennium Declaration, and further readings in other areas made it sound like the rights of children would usurp the rights of their PARENTS!!
“The Millennium Declaration also affirms the U.N. as ‘the indispensable common house of the entire human family, through which we will —realize our universal aspirations for peace, cooperation and development.’...(and tell parents they have NO rights when raising their children.)
But, of course, even after knowing this, we didn’t vote for Bath-House Barry because he was black. (sarc.)
Dickie Lugar had a great deal to do with this “bill”. Glad he got booted!
Anything done by EO can be undone by EO by the next president.
The pardons are what worry me. I expect him to pardon every suspected illegal alien from their crime of entry, freeing them from prosecution for illegal entry. He’ll also forgive those who have overstayed their visas, maybe trying to issue blanket extensions.
Hmmm. I wonder if pardoning the violent thugs and drug criminals would restore voting rights to a solid block of potential and unanimously liberal voters.
If there is one.
There are a couple of dangerous treaties which the Senate may try to ratify this summer (Law of the Sea and others)--once they are ratified, they can't be un-ratified. We have to be vigilant on these since they can't get through without a fair number of Republican Senators voting for them.
I agree. And don’t expect Congress or the Courts to stop him. Of course, moat of them will also be taken somewhere “for their protection.”
Martial law? ‘Present’ for life?
Those actions would bode very poorly for anyone driving a car with a bho bumper sticker, TSA agents, feds at any level.
Well, I’d like to see what the NY Times & WAPO would have to say about that.
Seriesly, if he pardons cop killer Mumia no white person should ever vote democrat again.
Empty Club Gitmo.
Two words, “Scorched Earth”
“Does his pardon authority extend to local criminal cases?”
Sure, I think the president can pardon anybody. Not sure if he could pardon a person convicted of treason, but other than that, yes.
Most people that get presidential pardons are convicted on a state level, I don’t think there are all the many federal offenders.
I don’t know why presidents aren’t ever asked to issue pardons on death penalty cases. I remember the yammering about the woman executed in Tx, but I think that might have happened after Bush was elected but before he left office as Gov. of Texas, or maybe it was that he was being asked to use his influence on the next gov.
I don’t remember, maybe somebody will ‘splain it to us.
“What about treaties?”
He can make all the treaties he wants, w/o Senate ratification, they are worthless.
You will have more need of a firearm and ammunition if he loses than if he wins. The civil unrest that will follow an Obama defeat will last a lot longer than 2-1/2 months and will make most cities uninhabitable for non-black citizens. The unrest will be confabulated to indicate that his loss was racially motivated. Take cover.
The President has no pardon or commutation power over state convicts such as Mumia.
He can’t pardon or commute illegal immigrants because their breach is civil, not criminal, but he could grant widespread relief from civil proceedings (including pre-removal detention) which a subsequent President might have difficulty reinstituting, practically or otherwise.
A raft of recess appointments to fill vacancies in the federal courts are certainly a possibility, but the damage potential is limited simply because few credible candidates would take so poisoned a seat. (Two or three strong candidates from states with two Democrat Senators is more likely, since they’d have a good chance at renomination by Romney in the typical distribution of judicial spoils.)
I believe that the president’s pardon power only extends to federal crimes.
Even if there is an executive order, Romney will overturn it on day one.

Vacation, vacation, and more vacations. Lots of traveling and preparing to access all the billions stashed away in offshore accounts. If it looks like he will certainly lose, look for him to dump Biden at the last minute and put Hillary in there, if she’s stupid enough to do it. I believe she is.
These commies didn’t come this close only to lose it all before their work is done. They will do anything, lie, cheat, steal, create a false flag..... anything.
