Wearing RED on Fridays is just second nature for me. T-shirts in the summer and sweatshirts in the cold weather.
Hope y’all have a great and Blessed weekend.
We are having The Relay for Life (cancer fund-raiser) starting at 9 am Saturday at one of our local high schools. The first lap is for cancer survivors which I will join in. Our son-in-law plans to walk the course for 24 hours and wants me to join him on the last lap at 9 am Sunday. I’ll be riding my scooter since walking long distances causes my leg and back to get all wobbly.

I remember the devotion, it was beautiful.
I only post the Daily Bread, I wish I had the knowledge to write them everyday. I post them for all to read and it also assures I read it too.

A Sense Of History
May 19, 2012
As my wife and I toured the British Museum, we were struck by the history and legacy contained in that massive facility in London. We looked at artifacts that were centuries older than anything found in the United States, reminding me how valuable it is to have a sense of history. History gives us a record of perspective, context, and consequences that can help us make wise choices as we learn from both the successes and failures of those who have gone before us.
Paul also saw the value of embracing the lessons of history. He warned of the destructive nature of bad choices by recounting the story of the children of Israel and their wilderness wanderingsa result of their refusal to trust God and enter the Promised Land (see Num. 14). Then Paul told the believers in Corinth, All these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come (1 Cor. 10:11).
God has given us the Bible, partly to help us learn from the history of His people. Biblical lessons contain both examples and warnings to guard us against our worst inclinations and to lead us into wiser living. The question is whether we will learn from the lessons of the past or repeat the mistakes of those who came before us.
Lord, teach us from the stories in Your Word.
We know Youve put them there to guide us and
give us wisdom. Help us to make obedience
out of love for You our purpose. Amen.
Valuable lessons are learned from examining the lives of Gods people whove gone before.

Our son and his wife went to Russia to adopt a 6 month old baby. Not wanting to wait for years to receive a baby through the adoption system here. She is nine years old now. Smart, beautiful, lives in Florida, tans beautifully, swims, ice skates, plays soccer, is going to Washington DC in August, as a reward for being in the school safety program and applying to go, and was accepted. She looks like her adopted Dad, our son. Amazing really. The hand of God.
Of course, adopting her changed their lives for the GOOD!.
Here in Texas they highlight on the Sunday night TV news segment, about 8 minutes or so ... a child that has been waiting for a 'forever family' for sometimes years. We are too old. It breaks ones heart to see these children so wanting a family.

History is fascinating and so interesting. When younger I read historical novels ... my favorites, Science fiction too, Detective novels. We are ever on a search for what is coming, hoping to be prepared to handle it.
The unknown holds mystery, hope, and suspense, God blessed us so richly when the LORD gave us the Scriptures. We will not live long enough in this life to completely understand the truths God has given us. His WORD teaches us how to think, how to respond and what God has instructed us to do in all situations. It is good. Today the world is filled with great evil and many seeking to become the richest, smartest, most famous, most powerful, deceiving themselves in false pursuit of vain glory. MO
Father forgive us we know not what we do, in Jesus name, amen.
