Ironic that my son is watching a Spongebob episode where they find out about Davey Jones Locker —— it ends with the singer performing!
RIP Mr Jones

And just yesterday, out of the blue, I searched “Peter Tork” to see what became of him.
Coincidence?
Well, yes according to the definition.

I was the Program Director of a radio station in Wilm, DE in 1990 and we invited Davy Jones to star at our “#1 in the 90’s” party. Nice guy. He came and blew people away with a great show. He loved being on stage. RIP. Prayers to his family.

Fond memories of my sister and her friends trading Monkee cards. Of course, they were so cool. OK, I was 8. Last Train to Clarksville was my favorite.
RIP, Davy.

RIP — he really was one of the original pop idols.
They have been advertising his upcoming concert in L.A. for the last few weeks. So sad he won’t make it.
And so young!

Damn shame. Loved watching the show as a kid. Another icon from a bye-gone era gone. RIP Davy Jones.

Rather young. Makes me feel old today.
My mom was at Martin Memorial for a time. Although I had words with some of the doctors, the support staff there was the best I’ve ever met, including the janitors.
My condolences to his family and friends.

The first Hollywood producer put together “boy band” for a TV show. They were primarily actors given instruments and #1 hit songs written by Neil Diamond.
That being said - they made the most of it - became talented musicians - and did their best to promote good music.
When they went on tour they had, as an opening act, Jimi Hendrix and the Experience!
Now that takes some brass plated cohones - to go on as an actor half trained as a musician AFTER Jimi Hendrix has just blown away the audience!
Rest in Peace Mr. Jones.
