My oldest son, Michael (Mick) who just turned 27 last month, has been a Type 1 Diabetic with zero pancreatic function (and all the complications which that implies) since he was 12 years old.
About an hour ago, we received a call from the IU Medical Center Transplant Team, where he has been on the recipient list for about a year. They have a possible donor.
Mick is now en route to Indianapolis to begin the pre-op at 7AM.
Your prayers would be appreciated for both my son and for the salvation of the soul of the potential donor, who has just passed from this life.
Prayers lifting, with thanks for the answered prayers for a donor, and for strength throughout the upcoming procedures.
May God bless.
Tatt
Prayers up for Mick’s successful surgery and recovery. Prayers up for you too, FRiend.
Prayers up for Micks successful surgery and recovery.
Prayers for Mick and for the donor. May it be a match and may the outcome of the transplant be successful. Thank you Lord, for what you will do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thinking of your son, you, and your family tonight... I pray the surgery went forward and that all is going/has gone well thus far!
Prayers up!
An evening prayer bump, shibumi...
sending prayers
Well, this turned out to be a 12 hour dress rehearsal.
Mick was admitted to the center, all his pre-op tests were good and we waited.
And waited.
At 5PM they determined that the donor organ was too badly damaged to take a chance on implantation. They also told us that Mick is definitely “next” on their list and that sometimes there are two or three of these alerts before the actual surgery occurs.
We want to thank all of you for your prayer and support - and we’re keeping our hopes up for “the next time.”
Thanks again, and God Bless you all.
Dress rehearsals...are...well, necessary I guess. ;(
I DO like the pre-op test results, though...
Thanks for the update!!! Pinging Logan’s and trussell’s prayer warriors.
Prayers continue for a matching donor.
I ask for prayers for myself and my family as I continue through chemo therapy. I have surgery scheduled on March 14th at which time I hope and pray to be cancer-free.
Thank you for letting us know. Prayers continue...
Prayers for Mick for a matach and for all of you as you support him!
Prayers continue.
Joining in with prayers up for your son Mick. Please keep us posted.
