Lights, camera, Acropolis!
Officials in cash-strapped Greece approved a cheaper pricing plan meant to lure film crews and photographers to its historic attractions including the home of the Parthenon.
The Greek culture ministry slashed the cost of a one-day film shoot at the Acropolis by more than half, from more than $5,000 a day to about $2,050.
The rate for photographers was cut by roughly one-third, from $385 a day to $256. The reduced rates come with a plan to speed up approval of the permits.

Godlike reverb and Greek columns.
money is no object.
You beat me to it. Bwhahahaha!
Greece would be very fitting for a socialist on socialism.
How about just opening a McDonalds.
How about re-invading Persia?
I'll bet they could really save money if they did away with what I'm guessing is some redundant bureaucracy of 100 or so people involved in the whole permitting process, who occupy a well-appointed office for 15 years with 30 paid days of vacation each year, and then retire on full pensions and benefits for life.
Just my guess...

My Big Fat Greek Acropolis.
How much are they renting out the Trojan Horse for? Or as Ulysses once warned: Beware of a gift bearing Greeks.
You can rent an Ionic column for just $19.99 per day. But if you order right now, our operators are standing by, we’ll toss in a Doric column ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!
The islands are still among the most delightful places on the planet.
Didn’t the Germans at one point recently suggest that Greece start selling it’s islands in order to pay off it’s debt? Maybe they were right...
The time is not so far away when America will do the same thing. Our national monuments, national parks, and the riches of our museums are all paid for with tax dollars. If we rent or lease them, perhaps we won’t have to pay for them anymore and can raise some money.
If we are really broke, can we afford the luxury of museums and memorials for everyone - even the 50% that don’t pay Federal income taxes?
