Beer drinkers rejoice: Your favorite brew may be healthier than you think.
For years, wine drinkers have indulged without guilt, reveling in the news that red wine can help protect against heart disease. Recent research shows that beer can also be good for what ails you, from reducing risk for broken bones to helping warding off diabetes and mental decline. It can even increase longevity, a large study suggests.
However, the key to tapping into beers benefits is moderation, meaning just one 12-ounce beer per day for women and two for men. Heavy drinking ups the threat of liver damage, some cancers, and heart problems. Bingeing on brewskis can also make you fat, since a 12-ounce regular beer has about 150 calories, while light beer has about 100.

"A 2011 analysis of 16 earlier studies involving more than 200,000 people, conducted by researchers at Italys Fondazion di Ricerca e Cura, found a 31 percent reduced risk of heart disease in those who quaffed about a pint of beer daily..."
Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Exactly! That’s a Ben Franklin quote, right?
Beer has health benefits?

And beer can be used at “summits” in which you try to smooth over a blatant instance of race-baiting.
At those “summits”, beer will help you look like an ordinary guy when you are really a prissy little socialist.

“He was a wise man who invented beer”. Plato
I have diabetes and I drank a healthy amount of beer. Having said that, I had cancer (exact duplicate of Lance Armstrong’s cancer), but the radiation damaged my system and that is when the diabetes started.
Moral: don’t get cancer and drink a lot of beer!
I believe so, but I’ve seen it used in so many appropriate places.
“That’s a Ben Franklin quote, right?”
You are correct and you win a cookie.
Cold winter weather reduces my desire for beer. During the warmer months after a hard days work at the evening meal a nice cold brew is like a royal drink. IMHO.
Hate to sober-up the party, but didn’t Rush recently talk about a report that the “researcher” who provided the data for the claim that red wine is healthy made it all up?
Is there someone we can trust who validates this “research” about beer?
(regardless, I will still enjoy my beer... and wine)
Consume the golden liquid in sufficient quantities just prior to those long distance pissing marathon events. Makes for good long and strong effects. Not recommended for weak bladders on crowded, bumpy airplane flights.
I have been drinking Beer during the days since I retired and switch to Red Wine at night. This kind of vindication is is just what I need to show my nagging wife. YAHOO!
“God is Great, beer is good, people are crazy.”
Not to mention it’s ability to make the homely more attractive.
