A young Oklahoma mother shot and killed an intruder to protect her 3-month-old baby on New Year's Eve, less than a week after the baby's father died of cancer.
Sarah McKinley says that a week earlier a man named Justin Martin dropped by on the day of her husband's funeral, claiming that he was a neighbor who wanted to say hello. The 18-year-old Oklahoma City area woman did not let him into her home that day.
On New Year's Eve Martin returned with another man, Dustin Stewart, and this time was armed with a 12-inch hunting knife. The two soon began trying to break into McKinley's home.
As one of the men was going from door to door outside her home trying to gain entry, McKinley called 911 and grabbed her 12-gauge shotgun.

I carry a gun because I can’t carry a cop.
I have to politely disagree - we don’t care for orange in our house any longer now that we have a freshman Sooner! ;-)
“... someone to take care of her for a while”.
I actually hoped she would bring some family in with her OR move in with some family. She just lost her husband, has a new baby and now this... (if she was my daughter, I’d be there or she’d be home with me). Support from family or friends is always a good thing during those difficult life times IMHO.
then she said like William Money, any man dont wanna get killed, better clear on out the back.
This creep just beat to death a beautiful white woman. He beat her to death with a baseball bat. That’s after raping, and torturing her for 2 hours. Her name was Hope Melton. didn’t hear about it? That’s because the liberal mainstream media hid this story. Her story needs to be told so that we all can know what is out there. The media is the enemy.
Wasn’t a door, it was ajar, and it was full of jamb
Pray tell, what could the police in a town of 7,000 possibly have had going on, that was more important than a woman trapped in a house, with two armed invaders kicking down her door? A speeding ticket to be issued? Perhaps a person ran a stop sign?
Most people would call this "Prioritizing" - it's not a difficult skill to master. Did the police have a whole series of houses being attacked by knife wielding teenagers?
Again, I'll wager she could order a pizza and have it to the house before the Police can get there. And this isn't an isolated case, it's not limited to her - the same situation exists where I live, and the odds are fairly high that you enjoy the same status.
"I carry a .45, because they don't make a .46"
They do however, make a .457 and .50, if you’re into wheelguns.
Both are somewhat uncomfortable to shoot, an nearly impossible to conceal, so I’d stick with the .45.
She prioritized the actions exceptionally well too ;-)
But there is the Thug Report that posts what the protected class is doing on the streets.

Rural residents often get screwed in this manner. They still have to pay property taxes which fund the sheriff's department.
I am a police officer in CA, and you need to recognize that it was a 21 minute CODE 3 roll. In my patrol area it takes 10 minutes to roll from from one side to the other while driving 30 mph OVER the limit. In my county we have stations where a 20 minute roll is common. Driving CODE 3 is very dangerous for the officers involved, and the public so I don’t believe they deserve this criticism. Kudos to momma for blasting that fool. Thanks...
I'm rolling my eyes at the stupidity of the blog's author. He doesn't seem to get that McKinley was in imminent danger.
I would hope it was a “code 3” considering what was happening. It wasn’t “criticism” but pointing out the reality. In many places the leaders and police do not want people armed and able to protect themselves, despite 20-30 minute response times.
Your post made me think that Justin Martin was the same person who raped, beat and then murdered Hope Melton, but he's not. Nickolas Jermaine Miller was the name of the person charged in that incident.
“This woman will have no trouble finding a husband....” I’d guess that finding a husband is the farthest thing from her mind at this point.
