Maybe you should find out what the police were up to at the time in this small town of over 7000 befoe making statements like that. Also a video segment on GMA of outide the house gave the impression this house was isolated.

Pray tell, what could the police in a town of 7,000 possibly have had going on, that was more important than a woman trapped in a house, with two armed invaders kicking down her door? A speeding ticket to be issued? Perhaps a person ran a stop sign?

Most people would call this "Prioritizing" - it's not a difficult skill to master. Did the police have a whole series of houses being attacked by knife wielding teenagers?

Again, I'll wager she could order a pizza and have it to the house before the Police can get there. And this isn't an isolated case, it's not limited to her - the same situation exists where I live, and the odds are fairly high that you enjoy the same status.

There are towns right around that size in my county that do not have their own police force, relying on county deputies to patrol. Last year the sheriff of our county, with the blessing of the county board of commissioners, pulled all deputies from patrolling rural towns, regardless of whether or not the towns have their own police force.

Rural residents often get screwed in this manner. They still have to pay property taxes which fund the sheriff's department.
