Terra Nova: A Thing of the Past (humorous review notes logic gaps)

In the early moments of its two-hour season (and probably series) finale, Terra Nova took off its training wheels and put on its big-boy pants, giving us a brief glimpse of what we'd all hoped the show would be in the first place. But like a tyke who's not quite ready for grown-up activities, it didn't take long for the show to faceplant and poop itself. Yes, Terra Nova took a major step toward becoming a legitimate television show with the season-ending double-feature of "Occupation" and "Resistance," but aside from a few fleeting scenes that were intriguing only if you consider them in the context of the rest of the series, good lord was the finale bad!

Time travel and dinosaurs.... how could anyone mess that up?

I'm still trying to figure out how anyone could have messed up a Land of the Lost movie. It was inspired by a show that included Dinosaurs, one of the coolest original monsters ever (Sleestak), and a strong young female lead that should have been a sure-fire hit with both boys and girls as well as adults with fond memories of the original if they played it straight and respected the source material, which was originally written by talented science fiction authors and respected Star Trek writers. Instead, some idiot who has no business working in the movie industry decided to give it to Will Ferrell to make a movie poking fun at the original rated "PG-13 for crude and sexual content, and for language including a drug reference," thus making it inappropriate for children, people who actually liked the original, or really any adult not drug-addled enough to find drug reference humor hilarious. If they can mess that up, they can mess anything up, especially anything including Dinosaurs.

The main thing that Terra Nova needs is the same thing that The Walking Dead and Falling Skies needs -- an advisor with actual military experience that can tell the producers, writers, actors, and directors when the things they do are logically and tactically stupid and nonsensical, because apparently people who work in the film industry can't do that on their own.

“Land of the Lost” with Will Farrell lost something like $55 million didn’t it? But he still got paid, of course.

It amazes me how many big budget films LOSE so much money and these companies seem to stay in business.

Here is a list of them... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_biggest_box_office_bombs

For once I’d like to see a tv show about a bunch of people come from the past and well, do stuff.

It was probably too realistic for it to remain on television.
