OK, three obvious items:

> Bad stance. She should cheat one foot (I'd guess the right) out a couple of feet to shift and center her balance forward.
> Closing eyes/flinching while firing. Will tend to pull shots off center.
>No eye protection. While she at least wears ear protection, she's running a risk if she catches a piece of hot brass in the face.

On the positive side, at least she's wearing proper clothing. I watched a guy attempt to teach his girlfriend to shoot one day. She was rather a healthy gal, and wearing a low-cut top. The lesson stopped suddenly, however, when a piece of hot brass bounced off a wall and down her cleavage...

A classic Smith revolver is a thing of beauty. Thanks for posting.

I do like my CW9. Nice weight, no FTE, stovepipes, etc. However, I’ve grown somewhat disenchanted with polymer frames, as I notice a bit of wear (although metal is on the rails where it should be).

My next handgun will be all stainless steel. aluminum. etc. I want to know I can shoot it the rest of my life. (eyeing a Kimber 1911)...

I had a CW9 that would "stove pipe" a lot, despite the fact I didn't shoot it with soft hands or limp wrists. I was aware of the break in, but it aggrivated the hell out of me. I went to a Para Carry 9 with the LDA trigger. I really liked it a lot. The trigger was very smooth and the accuracy was excellent. However, I found a compact 9 lacking in stopping power.

Any short weapon with a short barrel is going to lose some punch. I figured I was better off with making larger holes, so I and went with a Kimber .45ACP Ultra Carry II. As a bonus, it came with the Crimson Trace grip. Couldn't pass up the deal offered at the time. I miss the LDA trigger, but this Kimber is a sweet weapon.

The Kahr MK40 I purchased (used) is a tad smaller than the PM9 and has a stainless frame. Shoots very accurately for such a short barrel. A high quality weapon made in the USA. I love it; protects me & mine everywhere we go.

You know, the traditional long gun over the fireplace thing. Your “update” of that concept put the menace factor right back into it,,just the way great great great grandpa meant it with the old musket.

Inspiring.

I own (among other things that go BANG!) a Kahr PM9.

Why? Best shooting sub, subcompact WITH a real safety (designed for Concealed Carry). CC of a semi, with one in the chamber if the only safety is “grip/trigger” is Darwin-Award strength dumb.

Also, I don’t care if the dude’s family were/are moonies. Anybody building guns in America esp in Taxichussets can get my money with a quality product.

I guess the anti-kahr guys would rather kahr do flower arrangements?

Friday fun thread.

I have had two Kahr PM9s in the last few years; I gave one to a friend and bought another. Both were broken in using some rather hot Federal 9mm 124gr hardball that was intended for subguns. 200+ rounds with zero stoppages.

Since then, I've run a wide variety of HP ammo through mine, again, with zero failures. Doesn't get better than that. These things are built like trucks.

Of course, shooting full power defense 9mm means you better have a death-grip on the thing for every shot, but I've learned to do that anyway. The muzzle blast can also make things uncomfortable, for both you and folks on either side of you.

Not a fun gun to shoot, really, but none of that will matter under stress. And here in the land of sun, heat and humidity, you can have one of these hidden under a tank-top and no one's the wiser.

I later obtained a PM40. Same story. And that's the one I now carry.

I see you too have a rubber butt pad

JoeProBono's choice of undergarment is a bit more information than I needed...

Yeah, +p’s in a little gun stings like hell.

Have you tried the Ruger LC9?

I am leaning that way. For now its a S&W 442, but I do not like the trigger

My fave carry is the CZ 82.

Its small, its potent, its highcap, it has good sights, and it stays on point.

Both the SA and DA triggers are like butter.

I trust my life on it.
But when it is 105 degrees out I admit I carry the S&W 442.
This time of year when I can conceal, I carry the 1911 commander.
Who the fudge needs high cap with that?

The trigger on the Kahr PM series is probably the sweetest I've ever seen on a compact pistol, bar none. Besides its ruggedness, that's one of the main things that sold me on the Kahr.

I have heard the Kahr guns are good quality but have never fired one. It has been my experience that full sized for caliber, guns are more reliable.

I think the Glock 19 is about as small as a nine should be. The really tiny ones tend to be difficult to shoot, make a lot of noise and are at least a bit less reliable. From reading tests of them, they seem to be about as accurate which might be from careful fitting.

If I were going to get a .380 it would be about the size of the PPK. If I want a really tiny one it would be a TPH. The Browning model 1910 and similar Colt pistols are great designs too.

In the land of heat and sun I dont worry about penetrating heavy clothes.
I am thinking in cold weather that I may replace the 1911 commander with a CZ Rami in S&W40

Does anyone have experience with the 40 cal Rami? Does it recoil like a SOB?

Kahr makes a quality product, but I am hearing good things on the LC9 and at $275 I think it is worth a look.

What I have found is that small light weight compacts are very difficult to shoot, They tend to roll in your hand and they recoil like hell.

Many recommend the SW 442 airweight for gals
I’m a guy, and I dont like the punishment it delivers, I also find the trigger to be long and stiff.

I give that 442 to women to shoot and they take one shot, shake their heads and hand it back.*it hurts and its hard to keep on target*
I give them the CZ 82 and they smile.

CZ 40 S&W Rami

I like the concept and CZ makes a quality gun, but I bet this thing recoils like a SOB

The CZ-82 is a good one, also the various Makarovs.

I once had a TPH in .22lr and it was remarkably accurate for it’s size. Also pleasant to shoot.

When all is said and done, the full sized 1911 and Browning Hi-Power are about as good as it gets. The Browning particularly fits my hand, feels like it was designed just for me.
