They may be the height of fashion but the health risks will bring you back down to earth with a bump.
Five-inch heels are becoming the most sought-after shoes on the high street as shoppers take their lead from celebrities such as Victoria Beckham.

The most comfortable shoes I had were my jungle boots..my combat boots were comfortable too as are my hiking boots..other than that I find good running shoes for normal running around.for dress up...something with a heel but no high heels unless I know I won’t have to do a lot of walking.
Now that’s fascinating!! Those look just like pointe shoes for a ballet dancer...when I was starting to read the thread I thought—why not just put heels on toe shoes?
If you have a 4” foot that could be a problem. Average length of a woman’s foot is 8-9 inches. A five inch heel is not dangerous.
It’s all in the math.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!
With a heel 3.5 inches, it lengthens and flatters the calf and pretty legs, without making you walk silly. You never see Sarah walk silly. I think those are 3.5.
You know what I hate? The "leg chair" that Fox bimbos sit on, with mini-skirts and these 5-inch fetish stilettos...embarrasses me. A long way we've come since "dress for success."
That’s an interesting shot of the DHS Secretary’s legs...
Janet Reno?
Well, it’s true, if you have to make a quick getaway, heels are not going to work for you. Although I must say, back in the day in New York, I have seen high-heel-wearing older ladies sprint for the bus in a way that would have left most Olympic atheletes in the dust! I think they’d been training in their heels for a number of years, though. LOL!
LOL
I recall the rebellious Kate Hepburn and her fashion sense and how it drove her handlers c-r-a-z-y. Heels and skirts weren't exactly her *thing.* :)
ha
That guy’s big toes are trying to turn into opposable thumbs.
barefoot on deep pile carpet is probably as good as it gets.
Peach-pickers, Georgia.
Clarify my memory here, if you can.
I think the US government had a policy that they wanted to have a factory within the US that could manufacture each major necessity (shoes, pants, shirts, jackets, etc.).
I thought Bass Shoe or some other shop in Maine was THE last major shoe manufactory in the US that could meet those requirements and that they shifted their manufacturing overseas, so that there is no longer a single manufacturing facility that could supply the US with shoes during a major international issue (e.g., war).
Does that ring a bell or am I completely off on that? Do you know anything about that?
I’m pretty sure there are still one or two boot makers still operating in north america somewhere...but i could be wrong
The slutty shoes in the 50’s were the one’s with an open heel. Easy to kick off before you jumped in bed,and that was from the male point of view back then...The kick um off quick shoe....LOL
One of the reasons I only wore a 2 inch heel (maybe pushing 3 in my much younger days) is because I am 5’8”. I’m not saying there is one thing wrong with a six foot gal but usually men had an issue with looking up to a woman. LOL!
