'I am really scared': Family lost in corn maze calls 911 for help

A Massachusetts family got the Halloween scare of a lifetime by getting lost inside a dark and creepy Salem-area corn maze and had to call 911 for rescue.

Danvers police say they got a call of distress from a mother of two about 6:32 p.m. Monday. The woman alerted the 911 operator of their situation in the Connors Farm in Danvers, a short distance from Salem...

He said a Danvers police with a tracking dog quickly plunged into the depths of the maze with a farm manager to search for the disoriented dad, mom and two young kids.

Within a minute or so upon arrival, the police officer located the family. The family didn't realize they had almost made their way out; they were just 25 feet from the street, Connors said.

I take it they aren’t Michigan or Nebraska fans.

The scary thing is that they allowed that alleged adult to go home with the children.

It wasn’t the plot of the film that gave me the creeps. It was the fact that people considered that to be a horror film instead of a comedy film. Half of Stephen King’s output really sucks.

Typical liberals expecting the government to do everything for them, even get them out of a corn field.

Here’s a thought - hand out free tickets to the corn maze to democrat voters on November 1st of next year...

Trivia: the witch hysteria actually occurred in “Salem Village”—what is now Danvers.

yeah, but the "Danvers Witch Trials" just doesn't have that pizazz. :)

Funny thing is, no matter how much I don’t really know “where I am”, I have this weird “homing pigeon” talent that always guides me back.

Don't feel all lonesome, I have it too. I can usually point to north inside a building w/ no windows and I am about +/- 10 minutes on guessing the current time. My boss and I went to Germany some years ago and I got stuck with all the driving. We were in a small town near Stuttgart and had weekends free so we went sightseeing. He called me "Homer" (as in pigeon) after that because I got us to the Mercedes Benz Museum and back to our hotel with out a map. FYI Germany is not very big on posting road signs. They often fail to identify the road and just list the mileage to the next big city if there is any sign at all

Regards,
GtG.

Tell you a little secret creek. Maybe you already know this, but being that I work out in the woods a man gets to know these things.

If you ever look up at the very tip top of eastern hemlock trees, the very tippy top of it will nearly always point easterly. Of course you need to know your tree types.

As for me...I never carry any compass and for some reason I can always tell North here. Yet when I get to AZ I am totally lost as to the direction of north etc.

To tell you the truth I wouldn’t know a hemlock tree if it fell on me. They don’t appear to be common here in extreme southern Michigan.

Well, the most glaring one, yeah.
The second worst annoyance was the unending river of snot pouring down that idiot girl’s lip.

I watched it because it’s “local”.

[about the same reason I watched the X-Files...loved all the eps with the WV stuff where I could pick out the landmarks]

;D

OTOH, it was much better than that stupid “Paranormal Activity” bunch of flicks they’re flogging to death now.

I wasted an hour and a half of my life on the first one and cracked up at the end when the wife comes “sinisterly *stomping*” into the bedroom.

Thank God I didn’t see it in a theater.

It’s actually a real thing.

Supposedly it’s very similar to the electromagnetic sensitivities the pigeons have.

Honest to God, getting an MRI will make it “go away” for a while so there must be something to the theory.

If somebody asks me what time it is, I’m always within a few minutes of the real time, just because it “feels like” whatever o’clock.

;D
