Deep Reflections from a True Palinista (Vanity but Important)

Posted on 10/09/2011 8:50:20 PM PDT by SarahPalin2012

I had signed up on FR after my overnight subzero wait to meet Sarah for her booksigning (I still have 3 extra signed books). I did not view her possible candidacy as destiny or anything so dramatic, but I had sincerely hoped for it as Sarah is a Godly, wise and brave woman and seems to be so much the opposite of Obama. One of the things that truly impressed me was her advocacy for Israel. I wish Sarah and her family well.

The reason I had hoped for a Palin candidacy was that I had believed that she may be able to start to right the sinking ship that is America. But I fully accept that it will not be the case at least until 2016 (and very possibly never). And for those that likewise believed that Palin was meant to be our candidate, there was once a possibility that even Queen Esther would refuse to be the person that would be instrumental in rescuing Israel. Esther chose to participate, but her uncle Mordecai made it clear that if not Esther, then there would be someone else. My hope for a Palin candidacy was never about Sarah herself. It was because I believed she was someone who would courageously follow the truths of God as it relates to public life and policy. If she will not be a candidate, we must move on and accept that there are reasons for such outcomes.

One thing that is now readily apparent is the fallacy that some believed that Sarah would somehow be more effective at promoting conservative causes as a non-candidate. Sarah was very effective ONLY because of the possibility that she may become president. Without that possibility, she is not much different than someone like Condi Rice--at one time very relevant for America, and for now much less so. To see that Sarah was very instrumental in guiding the 2010 elections and thinking that she could wield such influence even after public knowledge that Sarah was not running -- well that's just very shortsighted.

It's not super important that we decide on a candidate right now. We knew Sarah well -- we may need to look wisely to see who is a genuine conservative that will win. It's important to me however, that we win in 2012 -- I'd even take a win with a less conservative candidate rather than have the alternative outcome.

This is a farewell to all those who have worked so hard for Sarah and America. Thanks Onyx, 2ndDiv, SE Ohio, Virginia Ridgerunner, and so many others. You guys were truly fantastic and tireless. Much admiration for your incredible and gargantuan effort that everyone here knows about. This is probably my last post regarding Sarah. May God forgive and bless America.

I appreciate your response and am glad I had an opportunity to have said what I did in my posts here and then to have received a kind word in response. Thanks, and hopefully we’ll be talking to one another on some other FR threads where we will both be working together for some good conservative causes! Thanks again.

PERFECT! Sounds good to me and nice to converse with ‘normalcy’. Thank you!

“Get my drift?”

Yep, I’d say you’ve been adrift in a thick fog for some time now and lost your bearings a long while back!

Well, normal is a little out of my range sometimes, (you must not have seen all my FUMRs today) but it WAS nice just to talk, wasn't it! LOL

It was a late announcement. A few debates had taken place already, and voters wanted to decide.

But then that would mean that Palin didn’t have a lot of support if she wasn’t hurting the others by not announcing.

You're engaging in a form of affirming the consequent here. You're basically saying that the candidates were hurt because of (deferred) support of Palin. Since the candidates weren't hurt, then Palin had no support.

I Would tend to think it's a bit more complicated than that.

Yep, I’m an ol’ retired fart and have plenty of time to keep up, especially the in-person interviews. I’ve heard two or more refusals to commit in just one show. I don’t do Facebook, nor have I ever heard her say anything about Facebook either. You sure talk big for an uninformed pipsqueak...kinda like a yappy house dog!

I don’t think it’s more complicated. Why were people so upset after she announced she wasn’t running, and why did people show up in Iowa to see her speech around Labor Day? Because they thought she was running, and refrained from getting excited about the other candidates. Palin milked it to the end.

“She was misleading her supporters, moron.”

A minor child makes a guess and you take that as a commitment? Do you also read tea leaves and chicken bones or are just highly impressionable? Betcha they like you at the carnival ring-toss booth! HAW

Yes, but how does "excitement" change the quality or quantity of the pool of candidates.

Look, I know people are upset about this, and they want to assign blame and damages. I'll concede blame. She made the decision and she has to live with. I'm sure she realizes that. But there are really no damages here.

As far as "milking it," i just think that's your anger talking. I listened to her interview with Mark Levin, and I'm satisfied that she didn't. I think she had some serious security concerns that outweighed everything. Who am I to tell her to put her family second.

I would think that anyone who really respected her, would listen to what she says and take her at her word. That doesn't mean that people aren't entitled to feel the way they do. She's a big girl, she made the decision, and she has to live with it, criticism and all...but I think a lot of it is way over the top, and it says more about the person making it than it does about Sarah Palin.

Her true supporters took her at her word that she had not made up her mind yet. You fools and the lamestreammedia would not even believe your own mother, and you persisted in indulging in wild speculation and innuendo....you still do, even today! HAW

Because the voters were more familiar with Palin than Bachmann, Cain, or Perry. They may not have bothered to listen to them much, hoping that Palin was going to be running. Her daughter said last summer, that her mother definitely knew whether or not she was running. No one would have cared about “Undefeated” or some of her speeches if she wasn’t going to be running.

Again, how does this change the pool of candidates. If your definition for harm is minor changes in the dynamics of the race, which is obvious, then you're not really saying much.

Many of Romney's campaign staffers went over to McCain when he dropped. And from the get go once there they started doing all possible to undermine Palin. It was obvious, the real deluge of false crap leaks from so called insiders against Palin coincided to the time when they arrived.

To whom, I had always hoped she would run, but she never stated she would. When she first said no I was damn upset, but in retrospect, I have not, nor do not walk in her shoes. It is her life to live as she best sees fit.

Good luck trying to reason with that fool, Politics4us, he hasn’t made any sense all night here, but he has found an imagined slight to complain about and wants to bitch to anyone who will listen. My patience has about run out!

I know.

A lot of people are venting right now. I have a fairly low threshold too, but hey, you do what you can, hope that it sinks in, and move on...
