Despite what some may think, Hillary would help bring some momentum back to Obama. She is popular with independents, blue-dog Dems, and would mobilize the female vote. If Hillary refuses, then he may pick someone like Senator Kristen Gillibrand. (The holder of Clinton's former Senate seat in NY.)
If Romney were smart, he would seriously consider Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina as his runningmate. (If she agreed to it.)
She has conservative, Tea-Party credentials and a previous Palin endorsement under her belt. I think she is impressive, but obviously nowhere near the energizer and "spark-filled," visionary person Governor Palin is.
I admire Haley, but am not her biggest fan. Something about Haley seems too "safe" to me. She is willing to tow the conservative line, but she's also very careful about not stepping on the machine's toes. She's also very deliberate about laying the groundwork for her political future. Hence why she never went out of her way to come to Palin's defense or tout her praises until AFTER Palin made the decision not to run in 2012. -- Hence why Romney would not mind working with Haley to bring his "less liberal than Obama, but still crony-driven agenda" forward.
This prediction eats ass.
Cain has said he would be fine with it, and he would be an effective "attack dog" on the campaign trail.
Again, we are letting the msm, the democrats and the establishment GOP pick our candidate.
It’s the Rove/Bush cabal. The same Rino Bigs who gave us McLame.
Cain should consider that Ronmey/Rove might not want a conservative in the number two spot. Maybe elevating Romncy while bashing Perry could backfire and Cain would be left out in the cold.
As Texan and VP to FDR, John Nance Garner supposedly said, the Vice Presidency is not worth a bucket of warm _____ (fill in the blank).
So, it would not make a bit of difference to me.
"what if he picks Nikki Haley"
McCain tried the same old tired crap by picking Sarah, that dog don't hunt.
"Try Caine/Rubio for the slaughter."
If Hillary is the Liberal Messiah’s running mate, keep the first sentence of Section 3 of the 20th Amendment in mind. If He “wins”, she’ll be President on January 20, 2013.
I won’t vote for Romney no matter who is on the ticket with him.
I’ve had it with the RNC’s freeze-dried candidates.
The RNC can stuff it.
I won’t.
I’ll work to get as many conservatives in Congress as I can, especially the Senate.
I’d rather a lame-duck Obama than Romney.
The RNC better wake up ... like yesterday.
If they run Romney, there will be no more Republican Party.
If romney get’s the nod I’m staying home. I will not vote for that rino. And anybody who say’s that my not voting for him could cost the election, then I say, don’t blame me, I didn’t pick him.
I don’t think I’m alone in that either.
Where did Herman Cain say he would be fine with being obomney VP?" Cause I heard him asked that question by a reporter and he said he would have to see if obomney had similar views as his before he would ever even consider it but that he himself was planning to be President not VP.
fine, then don’t complain about 0bama after he gets 2 to 3 SCOTUS picks if he wins. It’s funny, the people who wanted McCain to lose 2008 said that we would get the next Ronald Reagan in 2012, where is the next RWR?
When it becomes clear that it’s Obama-Romney, there will be other choices.
Palin, otoh, is a fearless attack dog. Romney will need to motivate conservatives to vote for him. Trust me, by this summer, all of us will be disgusted w/ Teh Mittens.
If Palin is out there on the downticket hustings pulling in crowds and taking Obama to the woodshed, expect them to get really desperate and give her a second look.
You heard it here first. I am deadly serious. After what his worms did to Palin in 2008 and onward, Romney is THAT craven.
Best,
Chris
Like Bob Barrf?
Same here, and it's really very simple. As much as I don't care for Romney, if he's elected we MIGHT make it as a country to 2016. If (GOD forbid) Comrade Zero gets back in, I'm certain we won't.
It’s hard to understand why the party leaders are pushing Romney so hard.
They are either deaf to Conservatives or they simply do not give a fugg about what we think.
No, that needs to be said to the people who push Romney. That rests on their shoulders, not mine.
Everyone knows the only way to get conservatives to vote for Romney is to brow beat them into it. But I refuse to be brow beaten into anything I don't believe in.
Haley disrespected Gov Palin on several tv shows, that is enough for me to not support her
