Explain how, and why you think, Palin could defeat Obama ( Vanity )
10/3/11

Posted on 10/03/2011 6:51:37 PM PDT by sushiman

I was supporting Cain , but for a variety of reasons have ended that support . There's no one else currently running whom I wouldn't have to hold my nose for when voting . I've always thought that Palin was unelectable ( if she ran , obviously ) , but am open to being convinced otherwise . Thanks in advance .

I sat my Palin disliking Sister in Law down (she doesn’t hate Palin, just dislikes her) and we watched The Undefeated on PPV last night. She changed her opinion after seeing that movie. She had no idea of the significant accomplishments Palin had achieved in AK.

Well first she’d have to win the nomination, before that she’d have to announce. Until either of those two things happen, she ain’t winning a damned thing, capisce?

"With due respect, I don’t really buy into the premise yet..."

Oh, that's an easy fix. This is the thread for those of us who do "buy" the premise. So take a hike, cheesetard.

See? All fixed up nice.

Doesn’t make much sense to answer that question until she announces she’s in the race.

Sarah is going to go Third Party Rogue. Count on it.

You will have three choices. Don’t be in a hurry to choose yet.

Obama may drop out, if he becomes convinced he can’t win anyway.

Hillary will step in. She could win.

There will be a Republican candidate. It may be a RINO. He can’t win... and especially in a three way race. Hillary would win.

It’s all still in motion. Pour yourself a drink while it settles down.

“Said he wouldn’t appoint a Muslim to his cabinet then flip flopped and said he wouldn’t IF the Muslim was a “ jihadist “ ( Duh ! )”

If you want to hold the flip-flop on that against him, that’s fine, but I understand why he walked that comment back, with people claiming he was imposing a religious test and so forth.

To me, his comments on that topic were a positive because there is no one in the field who has been more clear on where he stands on sharia law and related topics.

What he showed me was that, in Barack Obama’s famous formulation, if the winds shifted and it came down to muslims against the rest of us, Obama would stand with the muslims, that Cain on the other hand would stand with Americans.

dick head THUMP is on gretta, he is running, just waiting for Sarah to get in, then he will get in, dividing the vote to give OBAMBI the win. FUDT.

What the hell are you talking about. I just watched the interview and Trump was more clear than I've ever seen him about endorsing one of the CURRENT Republican candidates. Virtually the whole interview was about his meeting with Romney, Cain and Perry. He even said he would likely endorse one of the Republicans once the primaries begin.

Trump also seemed to think the Republican field was set, that Christie would not run, and that if there were any new candidates it would be on the Democrat side.

"Until either of those two things happen, she ain’t winning a damned thing..."

Actually, she is. As we speak, she's winning the battle of attrition. As Romney and Perry and Bachmann, etc., lose momentum and drop off the vine, more and more political oxygen becomes available for someone like Palin or Christie, or whoever else had the strategic genius to stay out of the early, meaningless skirmishes.

Cain will fade again as soon as someone new pops up; he's already proven his inability to hold the interest of the voters when faced with actual competition.

Palin is right on schedule... and flying under the radar, and way over your head.

When she doesn’t get in after all, I do hope you will post a vanity apologizing to the FReepers that you treated like crap because of your undying love and adoration of a freaking POLITICIAN.

It comes straight down to the electoral math.

Obama will not hold (regardless of his opponent) Florida, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina or Indiana.

With the loss of those States, and with the reapportionment of Congressional seats from the 2010 census, he will be sitting on 273 Electoral Votes from 2008.

There are 7 States that could be considered possible flips (and if Obama loses a single one, he loses the race).

Those States are:

New Hampshire
Pennsylvania
Colorado
Nevada
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Iowa

The last three on the list are the most important. All in the same region, all suffering the same situation, but the middle State of those (Wisconsin), has a Tea Party Governor who Palin went to support in the Public Union debate.

And that State is now recovering.

Palin is from the upper Midwest originally, speaks with their accent, is part of the outdoors world, and the unique populism culture that is part of that regions history.

She can flip at least one of those States.

That’s how she beats Obama. (I have also stated that I believe former ND Governor, current ND Senator John Hoeven will be the VP pick for whoever gets the nomination for the same scenario.)

LOL. If Palin ran indie she would be utterly destroyed. Every bit of support she currently gets from Rush, Hannity, etc, would evaporate overnight. Virtually every conservative commentator, analyst, opinion shaper, etc, would crucify her. There is no nation clamor for a Palin candidacy and a 3rd party bid her entire reputation would be destroyed. Governor Palin is not that stupid. She's not running.

Funny... that's not what Sandy Andron, Proctor of the Miami Chapter of Mensa, told me when I tested back in 1982...

Go figure, huh?

Then how did my politeness and my modifier — yet —escape. Late onset retardation?

Or are you just an insufferable asshole?’
Or perhaps a liar hiding behind a screen name?

You choose. It has to be one of the three.

” There will be a Republican candidate. It may be a RINO. He can’t win... and especially in a three way race. Hillary would win. “

Why would Palin go “ rogue “ just to give the win to Hilary ? Doesn’t make sense . She’ll either run as a Republican or sit this one out . It’s beginning to look like Perry is all but out of it . Romney is still IN but like you said a RINO . Don’t think he could beat Obama . If Palin does not enter the race , it looks like Cain is the best of the bunch despite his negs . I guess I’d have to hold my nose and vote for him though .
