Seriously, no matter how good an internet-based poll looks, none of them are worth the electrons wasted on them. They are self-selecting and easy to rig.

The actual scientific polls are mostly crap at this stage, and they’re responsible compared to internet polls.

So what was the sample in that poll? What is the split of D's and R's? What was the weight of rabid Palin supporters that actively looked for the poll or told to vote for it? Were all the participants located in one state or was it nation wide and what was the distribution?

I must have missed that info in the post since you say this is such a great barometer.

If a sample of 1200 polled can be a scientific representation of the 315-million in America, then 5,000 is enough for an accurate sample of the 250-million Facebook users.
