New Rule Requires Federal Contractors to Keep Current Employees

http://www.clearancejobs.com/defense-news/404/new-rule-requires-contractors-to-keep-current-employees

“Companies that win government contracts are now required to offer employment to its predecessor’s employees, according to a new rule by the Labor Department.

“The new rule covers service contracts valued at more than $150,000 and also applies to subcontractors. The Labor Department estimates that 40,000 contractors and subcontractors will be subject to the rule annually, which is based on 2006 federal procurement data.

“The rule originated from a 2009 executive order issued by President Obama seeking to reduce disruption during a contractor transition and retain experienced workers. Under the rule, federal contracting officers will help determine which employees would stay on their jobs when contracted work changes hands.”

" federal contracting officers will help determine which employees would stay on their jobs when contracted work changes hands"

In other words, un-needed duplicate Union workers will be FORCED on the winning bidder contractor, as in Gestapo-tactics.

The new contractor will be provided with snitch employees who will keep their benefactor "government contracting officers" informed.....

Should the US government give us a job? Hell no!

But Congress and POTUS should make policy that absolutely defends the USA economy, and the right of American workers to compete with Americans and our security, instead of giving it all up to the Commies in China so that a few bankers and international CEOS can make more money for themselves and international shareholders.

Congress’s job is to defend the USA and make our economy the strongest in the world. Their job is not to pretend that political ideologies are more important than the USA and Americans. We need to put the USA first, not Wall Street or GE or Goldman first. It isn’t about unions or regulations, it’s about putting the USA and its security first and it will only happen with Made in America.

We don’t need another free trade program with S Korea or Columbia until the free trade programs we have work in our interest.

While Perry and Mitt were doing their “I created more jobs than you” thing I would have loved to see Bachmann jump in and say - “Wait a minute neither of you created any jobs. A Governor or President cannot create jobs. That is how Democrats think, and it is dead wrong. If the Executive Branch wants job creation they need to stay out of the way of private business, and relieve them of unnecessary regulations that are hampering their growth, and also relieve them of the burdensome corporate taxes. ”
