School Text Books... Banish B.C., 'Before Christ ?'

Its all about being 'politcally correct.'

Many Christians are upset over the talk of removing the use of Before Christ (B.C.) and Anno Domini (A.D.) in school textbooks.

Its not happened here in the U.S. yet, but they're talking about it in Australia.

"The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority" wants to replace B.C. and A.D. (Anno Domini is Latin for “the year of our Lord”) with less religious terms.

So, what would be less religious?

How about:

BCE - (Before Common Era)

BP (Before Present)

And CE (Common Era)

And you can ask as I’ve done “What Common Era are you talking about?”

I think it has happened in some US texts, I am sure I have seen it mentioned before.

I read them as follows:

BCE - Before Christian Era

CE - Christian Era.

If someone else reads them differently, that's their right.

I can understand why Jews, Hindus, other non-Christians might not wish to refer to Christ. Why get all upset about it?

I remember reading that BCE - (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era) were inventions of a few Jewish academics who wanted to used the Christian calender but didn’t want to acknowledge the Christian part.

BP (Before Present) is an actual time reference based on the date 1950. If they don’t want to use AD and BC they should use this.

It is already taking place in America. A number of liberal denominations have been using CE and BCE for several years in their “religious” publications. Dovetails with changing their lectionaries, prayer books, missals and other sources.

An addendum to my earlier post. I read them that way when others use them, but I myself use BC and AD.

=Stupid Era

Its been going on for years. Just watch documentaries..they refer to everything regarding ancient history as BCE.

We know the difference. This is where schooling our children has become mandatory.

Considering the historical fact that Jesus was born no later than 4 BCE, BCE and CE are simply more correct. Otherwise, this is 2015 Anno Domino.

Great, so when the kids get out of school and read real books, they won’t know what the hell they are talking about. That’s what I call education!

We might as well just let our kids play World of Warcraft for eight hours a day if this crap keeps up. They would probably learn more useful skills in real life than they would from being force fed leftist fantasies. In a game like WOW, they could learn about teamwork, basic mathematics, basic economics, critical thinking, and maybe even get some practice on their social skills... maybe.

Not that I recommend letting your kids play silly video games for 8 hours a day, but it would probably be less damaging than sending them to a public school.
