Ah, so now we see what the leftist elitists have in mind for the rest of us... in the interim before they “cull” those who are diseased with capitalism.

Well THIS is good news. Guess ol’ Bammie’s stimulous spending is paying off. More Americans can now afford home ownership.
Yippee.

And this is going to be approved by a local zoning board exactly where?

Cheaper than a chicken coop! Wonder if you can get one without the bathroom and kitchen plumbing. Chickens don’t need it.

Tumbleweed Tiny House Company makes cute little homes that start from the bargain price of $99. Not quite. The plans start from $99. The cost to build the houses looks to be around $20,000.

If he gets a following, more power to him. Although I think that the people who live in “4000-6000 sq. ft. debtors prisons” will be the LAST group who’d want these.
Face it, we all know some one (or read about some one here on FreeRepublic) about some one who bought too much house with not enough down and is underwater on their mortgage.
I’d consider investing in the mobile one if I fished and wanted an alternative to the RV’s, campers, and tents available.

If I were single I could be very happy living in one of those. I don’t need or want a lot of space. That’s just me...

One point of tiny homes is theyre smaller than what most every zoning jurisdiction considers a regulatable home. You can stick em almost anywhere. Is that really true?
I'm not doubting you, just would like to be sure for future reference.
I'd like to make something like this for a deer camp on my twenty acres of woods.

Per Tumbleweed’s website, the plans start at $99 not the house. The smallest house kit is $16k.

8’ x 8’ homes with “fully functioning kitchens, bathrooms complete with composting toilets and sleeping areas?” Must be real nice having the kitchen and sleeping area just a couple feet from the toilet.
