SO, after much anticipation, I finally had the chance to try Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
And after hearing and reading all the hype, I was definetly...What would be the correct word?...
UNIMPRESSED!!!
Yes...
I like BKs Whopper ONLY IF its fresh and not microwaved. It seems like BK can no longer sell food without nuking it.
Which is why when my daughter and I go together we order one burger and fries and share it! It's definitely big enough to share and, like I previously posted, they give you tons of fries.
Some weekend take a drive up to Carmel-by-the-Sea to a little restuarant called Jack London’s Call of the Wild. They have the best hamburgers in the world.

I always ordered the burger with cheddar and bacon. Came on a whole wheat bun with all the fixin’s. Oh yeah, you order the burger cooked to your preference, too. Always ordered an Irish Coffee with Jameson’s Irish Whiskey to accompany the burger.
I would do this once a week for the whole time I attended the Military Foreign Language Institute, at the Presidio of Monterey Army base.
My daughter & I enjoy lunch of burger & fries at TGIF once in awhile. Reasonable too.
Ahh...OK.
Re: Red Robin. There’s one near where I work. Burgers are tasty but expensive. Figure 10+ bucks for lunch, easy.
For fast food 5 Guys is good but I have noticed differences between various locations. Fuddruckers is ok but generally bland and some locations only have a minimal condiments/fixins bar. I like that you can get a shake and cookie for the kids at Fudds.
One thing that always cracks me up about 5 Guys are the signs on the door telling you not to remove peanuts from the store because of peanut allergies.....hmmmm so according to the scientific genius’ at 5 Guys World Headquarters, it is safe to take the peanut oil soaked fries out into the real world but not the peanuts themselves.
Best of the chains. Expensive, 1st class local grille just 5 min. from us has $5 - 1/2 lb. burgers on Monday nights, and no one can beat them. Other local places too far exceed Wendy’s.
If I’m on the road, it’s Wendy’s for burgers. If I’m in town, it’s one of the local places......
They should serve Clearasil at the counter. I get 4 or more zits just walking by the place.
IT’s a restaurant based on Peanut Oil. I understand that Peanut Oil is a “Southern thing”, but all I see in my area at these dumps are surly blacks.
With severe acne.
Only problem I have with Wendy’s is getting burgers that were cooked an hour or more earlier. They SAY, “We don’t re-heat our burgers - they are all fresh cooked.” but I know I’ve gotten some really dried out old ones that had to be sitting in an oven for a long time after they were grilled.
Typically when I get there after 1:30 pm, 2pm or so.
I have never been able to stomach an Mickey D's burger, though their fries are pretty good. Used to work at BK while in college, and liked their burgers; still do, but I really like their Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich.
Me too. Wendy’s about the same distance from me as 5 Guys, and not only is Wendy’s MUCH cheaper, I find the burger
just as bad.
Flat flap of over-lean steamed grey paste, on my tongue.
It was a good but manageable crowd, the burgers were really fresh and the fries were crisp and dry and delicious.
We now have three of them in easy driving distance, they do more business than McDonald's and the quality of the product has dropped considerably. My favorite is now probably Shake Shack, which likely has fewer than 10 locations. Also Good Stuff when I'm in DC.
Finally a vote for Krystals.
As a vegetarian ( yes I personally revoked my manhood ), I go to Krystals and eat grilled onions smothered on the buns with mustard. Or I take a bag home and add my soybean burger.
Nice thing about Krystals ( real or modified ), you can eat dozens at a time.
Obama likes “Five Guys Burgers.” That tells me everything I need to know.
The part of Virginia that 1. IS NOT Virginia, and 2. Should be cut off and excommuncated from the real Virginia(named SS Virginia, SS being for “Socialist State of”), and 3. Is infested/controlled by Marxists who make millions off of your and my taxes.
Not a fan of their burgers either, although I like the fries at Five Guys. But, the one near my house is SO greasy inside, that I never go there. You can literally feel grease all over the floor in there, and on everything. They appear to mop, but it apparently doesn’t do any good (they probably just use water). Anyway, the place grosses me out, so it’s off limits.
It feels really bizzare to read a local post on a global web site with no context to it for those of us that have no idea what in the world you are talking about.
If he still doesn't get it, revoke his "man card."
