Woman charged with grabbing stranger's infant from stroller, attempting to eat his arm

A crazed woman randomly snatched an infant from a stroller, slammed the baby into a pole and later said she was trying to break the baby's arm off "so she could eat it," Los Angeles cops said Wednesday.

Prosecutors have charged Natasha Hubbard, 36, with aggravated assault and released her photo believing she may have other victims from her wild rampage in downtown Los Angeles last Thursday.

The terrifying incident with the 4-month-old boy took place in a crowded shopping district packed with families, police said.

Detectives said mom Adriana Miranda, 29, was pushing her infant son Alexander in his stroller when Hubbard unbelted the child and grabbed him by the leg.

Witnesses said Hubbard then swung the baby over her head and slammed him into a metal rail of a nearby truck as the mom and the baby's aunt watched in horror, police said.

The mother and aunt fought off the woman, with the suspect clawing at Miranda as she clutched the baby boy in her arms, police said.

Arriving officers were able to locate Hubbard with the help of witnesses who pointed her out.

She's now in jail with bail set at $55,000.

Hubbard told detectives that she tried to break off the baby's arm so she could eat it, police said.

The tiny victim received bruises and scratches as a result of the attack.

Must be a progressive zombie.

Normal zombies go for the brains.

Progressive zombies don’t even know where the brain is.

She needs to be locked up until she dies. Someone like this shouldn’t be out. Ever.

So I take it that the baby is going to be alright but how in the world can any bail be set for this animal? How is she only in jail and not a mental institution?

Michelle says this is probably the result of eating too many Happy Meals at McDonald’s. She should stick to arugula and she wouldn’t be having these problems.

This is how that incident may have differed if someone had attacked our son while my wife was pushing him in a stroller:

[perp approaches and grabs baby]

Wife: What the he11 are you doing? [draws revolver from holster while reaching for baby]

[perp starts to slam baby in to pole]

Blam...
Blam...
Blam...

[perp drops to ground bleeding from both eye sockets and from a +/- 0.357” hole in center of forehead]

[Wife takes baby in arms and gently comforts him for several minutes, then places him in stroller. Wife dials 911 on cell phone and informs local officials that there is some trash blocking a travelway in “the shipping district”. Wife leaves her name and address with someone on the scene and then transports baby to hospital for a check-up to make sure he did not contract any diseases during his brief contact with perp].

...or something similar.

What are you talking about??? There is sooooo much value in rehabilitating this woman and reintroducing her into society as a productive member. Sooooo much value. I can tell by looking at her. I bet she could cure cancer someday.

Sadly, you left out the part where the LA DA throws the book at your wife. She serves 20 years and doesn’t get to watch the son she saved grow up.

This *is* LA after all.

Good point.

My family lives in Virginia and I sometimes forget there are places in the country where the right to self defense is has been violated so as to be practically non-existent.

You do have a point, it was likely performance art subsidized by the NEA and her union will step up to protect her right to free speach. That, and she could be good for at least 7 -8 Democrat votes in 2012.

"... Sadly, you left out the part where the LA DA throws the book at your wife. She serves 20 years and doesn’t get to watch the son she saved grow up."

On the other hand, you're not considering the part where the man and his wife and son flee the scene and are never apprehended nor prosecuted.

The LA County DA has a pretty lame track record of clearing cases of broad daylight shootings.
