Sounds like such a well rounded family. The other pitbull named "Blunt" was not hurt in the shooting. /s
May I nominate her for Darwin of the Year? Or maybe it was just a one shot, one kill scenario.

Is this bad writing or was the deceased holding the dog when she was allegedly trying to shoot it? Could it have been an opportune moment for the shooter?

What could have happened? They sound like a real intelligent family, owning pit bulls with kids around. And what normal family wouldn’t give their dog a name like “Cocaine”? /s

It was then that police say Betty Walker fired twice, hitting the dog once and her husband once in the chest. Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green says the death of 53-year-old Robert Walker appears to have been accidental.
Appears to have been accidental? Must be the Sheila Jackson police.

Why do I get the feeling we will see a story in a day or two headlined, `Husband Shooter Told Boyfriend ``I`ll Make It Look Like An Accident`` ...or `Puppy Slay Widow`s Last Words To Hubby She Shot: ``You Play Joan Burroughs This Time`` ?

Guy apparently was holding the dog and the woman tried to shoot the dog while he was holding it. I mean, maybe Doc Holiday could feel good about making a pistol shot like that....
To: mmanager
"It was a freak accident," Walker Jr. said. "I don't know what else to say."No, a freak accident would be something like she dropped the pistol, it went off and killed the husband. She pointed the gun in his direction and pulled the trigger. She may not have meant to hit him but she did - nothing freakish about that.
Also, if I read your comment correctly you're saying the family owned the dogs. They did not they belonged to neighbors. And, for a Darwin award she would have had to have shot herself, not her husband.

My dog Sodomy was a great dog so long as he didn’t start humping your leg. It never ended well.

First, it’s a puppy. Second, the husband was able to pick it up and hold it long enough to get shot a couple of times so the dog wasn’t as bad as what she’s making it out to be. She, on the other hand, needs to be placed in a padded cell for eternity.
