My Review of The Undefeated
Vanity ^ | 16 July 2011 | Windflier

Posted on 07/16/2011 4:23:24 PM PDT by Windflier

Just got back from the 1:50 PM showing of The Undefeated in Grapevine, TX. Attendance was roughly 75 people (I sat by the entrance and counted).

The Undefeated is everything that rave reviewers have claimed it is. Thankfully, my wife and I saw the G rated version, so we weren't assaulted by the filthy vitriol in the clips of the rabid leftists at the beginning of the movie. There were an awful lot of *bleeps* during that part.

Because I've paid close attention to Governor Palin ever since her arrival on the national stage, I'm already familiar with much of what was in the movie, but Steven Bannon managed to tell some parts of Sarah's life story that I wasn't familiar with. He provides a lot of detail around her rise through Alaska politics that you won't find in her book. Interviews with people who rose along with her, or who were on hand to watch that rise, really add a lot of depth to her story. It helps to explain just who this woman is, and what her core values are.

Bannon goes to great lengths to show how she stands apart from partisan politics, and how she is much more of an American Originalist, than anything else. I've made the same observation about Palin myself, but Bannon seizes on this one unique aspect of her character, and boldly underlines it.

There's a reason that she enjoyed an 88% approval rating among Alaskans before joining John McCain as his running mate. It's because she doesn't approach public service from a perspective of partisanship (although there's no doubt that she's staunchly Republican). She approaches the task of governing as a hard-nosed administrator of the Constitution - pushing back against anything that deviates from, or which violates that basic framework. Like Reagan, she believes that government should be a servant of the people, with limited powers, subject to The People's authority.

The Undefeated shows a person of unimpeachable character and good will, who simply wants to see our nation achieve its full potential. The movie shows a person who sees big government, high taxes, corruption and cronyism, violations of our Founding Charter, and feckless politicians as the stumbling block to us achieving that promise, and one who is determined to do whatever it takes to see this country righted.

What I got out of the movie, is a picture of someone who has clean hands, and who cares far less about partisan politics, than getting this country back on the right track. I also saw someone who has more courage in her pinky toe, than any ten politicians have in their entire bodies.

After seeing the movie, I can also say that I see someone who's running for president. It's quite clear that that office lies along the natural trajectory of her path in life. Watch the clips of her acceptance speech in 2008, and you can clearly see that she had the natural bearing of that office, even then. It's in her eyes, in her speech, and pours forth from every pore of her being. I saw it then, and I just saw it again today.

Go see the movie, no matter where you stand on the developing presidential race. If you already support Sarah Palin, you're going to learn a great deal more about her than you already do. If you don't support her, you may discover that you agree with her a lot more than you did previously.

One last thing. There was a sustained round of applause at the end of the movie.

...what moved me most was her speeches. She knows what’s right for America and speaks of a love of this country even better than Ronald Reagan could. She is a amazing lady.

Agree with you there. Watching the tiniest nuances in her face and eyes during those speeches (because of the enormous screen), you could easily see her fierce determination. That's one of the things that was difficult to see on the small screen.

I was blown away by her early speeches in the 2008 campaign, but seeing her up close like that really brought the power of her presence home. She is dynamic on a level that few really appreciate.

I'm now more convinced than ever that she decided to become president two years ago, and that she will do just that in 2012. It's time for a patriot of her fiber to take the reins and steer this country back to where it ought to be.

...the status quo of both parties fear her because she’s shown she’ll destroy their old boys scams no matter which side of the aisle is corrupt.

Steven Bannon does an outstanding job of showing that one aspect of her character. She fought the 'big boys' of both parties, all the way from Wasilla to Juneau, and is fighting them even now.

With Sarah, you're either on board with the Framer's vision of America, or you're an enemy of The People. She is ruthless on that single point of her philosophy, and will do whatever's necessary to reach her objective.

When reading reviews, such as yours that say the audience applauds and cries, I am filled with hope and this honestly has made me cry. Maybe there are enough of us to turn this around - under the guidance of the right leader.

I already had a lot of faith in Sarah as a leader, and in the American people's intention to rid themselves of the status quo that's killing our nation, but after seeing The Undefeated, I feel much more confident that we will achieve victory over that evil, and that Sarah Palin will lead us there as our 45th president.

Too bad it 4 1/2 hours away from the closest showing from us. Hope it hits DVD.

Well, the buzz is, if the movie does well in its initial run, it'll be distributed to theaters around the country. I don't know how long it has to go before they make that call, but from what I saw today, it should get there.

When she runs, and sincerely believe she will, this country will see an even more evil side of the media then we have already seen. They will be attacking any and everyone who supports her, and they will make it personal.

Well, it's time for The Big Showdown anyway, wouldn't you agree? We can't fall much further in this country, or the whole thing will collapse. Once Sarah is in the race, there are only going to be two kinds of people - those who want to see this country restored, and those who want to end America as we've known it.

Her announcement will be where the battle line is drawn. Anyone who fails to side with her, will be siding with the enemies of America by default. That's been my personal litmus test for some time, but it will quickly become America's.

Of course the leftmedia is going to scream bloody murder about Sarah all over again, but they've already shot everything they have at her, and nothing has worked. The smart ones will get out in front of the pack and choose wisely, because they see the tectonic shift in America about to happen. The not-too-bright will continue to attack her, and will be branded by shame for life when it's all over.

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’ve done some activism here and there with respect to the movie. Everyone I’ve spoken with says it more than meets expectations. High emotional impact.

Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed reading it.

Thus, the hatred from the greedy left and the immoral media.

Sarah Palin to the media, in regards to the documentary movie, “Undefeated”:

“You’ll learn the facts many of you have failed to report for the last three years as you’ve continued to do what makes you less and less relevant in our country’s discourse,”

The best way to see The Undefeated will be in a theater.

And eventually, I think people who haven’t seen it at all will be in the minority.

Thank you for posting your experience.
The left’s biggest bumper-sticker meme will be;
“Palin’s a quitter”

Now that you’ve seen the movie, now that the emotion of it is ‘fresh’, what do you think is the best reply?
(I tried to answer re: frivolous lawsuits/saving Alaska money, - I know they’re libs! - they couldn’t hear past the “she’s a quitter” meme...I’d just like to find an answer - a good one, snappy)
Just ideating...thanks!

Your post made me cry. In a good way. In a very very good way. Run Sarah Run. Surely this amazingly lady has Angels surrounding her and protecting her and her guidance is truely from our Heavenly Father.

Even as a work of fiction, it would make a terrific movie, but the dramatic impact is even more powerful because it's a true story.

And with the stakes so high in the coming election, the fact that this story is about someone who may actually be running, is even more powerful and immediate.

The film more than met my expectations, and even bolstered my confidence that Sarah will oust Zero next year. I'm now even more convinced that she's the only one who can do it, and further, that she's the only one who SHOULD do it.

That Sarah and her family had to foot their own legal bills to defend against the never-ending avalanche of ethics lawsuits. They were being driven into the poor house, and Sarah (and her staff) were being pulled away from doing their actual jobs, to handle the suits.

It was the right thing for her to draw herself (the target) away from the Governor's office for the good of the Alaskan people.

It would have been one thing if the leftist operatives would have attacked a private citizen, but Sarah just happened to be the Governor of the state. They were destroying the chief executive of that state, one suit at a time. Sarah couldn't continue to allow the Governor's office to be destroyed like that.

So what's the short answer? Go see the film, and find out the truth for yourself. You won't believe your eyes.

Absolutely. I've said for a long time, that we're witnessing the emergence of someone who will one day figure large in American history. That is, if she prevails against the forces of evil that intend to stop her from being that historic figure.

There is no other person on the political landscape who is built quite like Sarah Palin. She's a throwback to the Founding Generation - someone who clearly understands the uniqueness of our American system, and our Constitution. I see no one else who is as determined as she is, to get this country back onto its original track, and to guide it back to its rightful greatness.

Glad that I could bring a good tear to your eye. I had a few myself, while I was watching her life story unfold on the big screen.

You gotta see it, bro. It'll blow your socks off.

The director Steve Bannon was on Lou Dobbs’Fox Business show on Thursday. He told Lou Dobbs that he will be making the film available via streaming video, video on demand, and on DVD soon. You're probably not going to get very far in trying to impart some logic and reason to committed liberals. You've got to break through their lifelong conditioning and indoctrination to even get a reasonable exchange of ideas going.

That's a tough job for any conservative, because it's got more to do with psychology, than with political philosophy and ideas. Better to find some person who's not so brain washed, that you can have a civil conversation with them. If the rapport is good, they just may agree to accompany you to see the film.

A couple days ago, during an interview centered on the opening ot "The Undefeated," Stephen K. Bannon said that, as big a game-changer as this Palin film will doubtless be, he was also going to be "dropping a bomb 30 days before the Iowa Caucus that would cause a tectonic shift" in the American political landscape.

I don't believe him capable of exagerrating or being wrong about his prediction. Not that he's never wrong, just when the stakes are this high, he's very careful about making such statements. His reputation and credibility are everything in his line of work.
