Razors are expensive and get dull way too quick and I started to think about a way to make them last much longer.
When we shave, we are not only cutting the bristle but we are also getting oils and dead skin on the blade.
This lead me to thinking what would clean the blades from this stuff. So I stared experimenting and came up the perfect solution...91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
I put some in container which I could put a lid on to eliminate evaporation. Then I used an old blade which I was about to throw away and vigorously rinsed it in the solution then in water.
I did this several times while I shaved and couldn't believe how smooth my face felt. BTW, it wasn't a top dollar razor, it was a Gillete Good News and I'm still using it after five more shaves.

n a place where theres less humidity”
That would mean for some of us keeping it in a different state....
I cover my face with Duct tape and with one quick pull , clean as a baby’s bum.
You're going to have to move to someplace worse than southern Louisiana before you cry to me about humidity.
I just put on some protective goggles and sandblast. It’s the only way I can get that fresh tingly sensation from my Habanero aftershave.
With all the money you save, that beach-front retirement home may finally be within reach. :)

I light a firecracker and press it against my pallet. I then swallow the leftover. It keeps the worms out.
So that’s your story and you’re sticking to it. LOL! (what color do you use on your toenails?)
[I spray mine with WD-40]
Makes sense, WD-40 is a great water dispersant. No home is complete without it.

Trust me...my back paws are so ugly, all the nail polish in the world wouldn’t make a bit of difference.
Keeping it dry is a good idea. I dry mine and put it in a little case that was originally meant for carrying soap while camping.

G’s, you try to save people a little money during hard times...
The skin cancer prone must always protect their skin from the sun.
A blond poultice works best.
1. Don’t buy ChiCom double edge razor blades. I cannot get 2 shaves with them (junk metal).
2. I have had good luck with American Safety Razor blades (Personna)
3. If you shave after a hot steamy shower, beard is much softer and the blades last a lot longer.
4. Recently I have been using the Dollar General brand of twin-blade disposables. They seem to last very well.
5. I use Williams cup shaving cream and a brush. Oldie but a goodie. Not convenient for travel.
Since I now shave my head rather than mess with ungrateful hair that won’t stay on my head a regular razor wouldn’t stay sharp enough. I use a good high-speed electric razor and the alcohol-lubricant method is exactly what the razor charger-cleaner uses to clean and lubricate the blades and foil. Even an electric razor will take on moisture and oils from your face and will corrode. The alcohol and then a light, non-toxic lubricant will definitely work.
Mine is white and is quite effective. The red one I had before was not quite as effective but I was outside more then also.
