The former West Point cadet who's suing singer Patti LaBelle's entourage for allegedly assaulting him at Bush Intercontinental Airport last March has added an airport operations worker to the list of defendants.
In an amended complaint filed earlier this week, Richard King accuses Houston Airport System employee Cahl Rasmussen of relaying false and defamatory information to King's West Point supervisors -- namely, that King instigated the confrontation that left him bloody and landed him in the hospital.
"[Rasmussen] was not a witness, but without compunction, passed on the aforesaid false report as if it was true," the complaint states. "In an act far outside the scope of any job description, Rasmussen initially e-mailed, then spoke on the telephone, to King's supervisors at West Point."
The complaint does not state if Rasmussen saw the video of the incident before allegedly contacting West Point.
King's lawyers told Hair Balls earlier this month that, based on this information, West Point suspended King. The Houston Chronicle reported earlier that West Point officials said they conducted a "thorough investigation" of the incident and took "appropriate action" by suspending King. West Point officials have not responded to our request to confirm that Rasmussen spoke with King's supervisors, and Rasmussen has not responded to requests for comment.
Rasmussen has been an airport operations coordinator since 2004, according to his Facebook page. (Under his "employers" section, he wrote "Work as little as possible. Remember I work for the government!!" -- classic, Rasmussen).
He lists his previous occupation as a police officer for the city of Aurora, Colorado, from 1985-2000.
LaBelle and her entourage have not filed a response.
Where did you read that Cadet King's BAC was over the legal limit?
And, where did you read that the hospital confirmed the cadet's BAC was over the legal limit?
(Why do I already have the feeling that you will not be able to provide us with a citation for the above information.)
Thanks for the update and ping.
If this in fact is what Rasmussen did he should not only lose his job but the cadet’s lawyer should nail him and Patti LaBelle.
The Houston Press is an “alternative” news source that is mostly lib and kooky. The ‘Hair Balls’ column is kind of their version of TMZ.
Why don't you read the whole thread before making snide comments.
Seems like a real D-bag !
Actually, she complained that he was too close to her luggage. I believe she was still in the limo.
Why don't you read the whole thread before making snide comments.
Oh, I'm the douche-bag because I requested a citation?
I noticed that you have not responded with specifics because you don't have them. Casually referring to Stars & Stripes or Military Times does not cut it. Dig it out if that is your source. You owe the thread that as well as not besmirching Cadet King by such comments.
I'll await your citations.
What you are overlooking is LaBelle’s royal status. She must be protected from the commoners!
“That ain’t drunk !”
Drunk is lying face down on the grass with fingers and toes dug into the ground to keep from falling off the planet as it spins.
Why?
Well, obviously, BECAUSE!!!
You'll be waiting a LONG time. I would give a prick like you the time of day.
Sooo, my original gut reaction that you would not be able to provide this thread with specific citations was dead on, wasn't it? By your reaction, I seem to have struck a nerve.
If anything, I think you owe Cadet King an apology.
1. It wasn’t a habit. It was to impress on personnel that we are at war on home soil. We still are, although most people, both in the WH and on FR, don’t seem to get this fact.
2. We don’t wear BDUs, we wear ACUs. They are much uglier, more annoying and less effective than BDUs.
3. The beret is not gone. It is still a part of the ASU (Class A/B).
4. Wearing Class A/Bs everywhere means . . . you guessed it . . . the beret stays on.
The ASU shirt is white. Couldn’t we get tan or keep some green color? Why all white? Oh, and the ASUs cost me $600. My greens are fine, but we were forced to “upgrade.”
If public drunkenness were a dangerous charge, we would not have half our officer corps.
This looks like a railroad job all the way.
Yet the academy claims he was a good student in good standing.
Something does not add up. There is a hidden half to this iceberg.
It does the tape show the poor guy just pacing back ad forth talking on his phone and Patti LaBell pointng him out and the body guards attacking him after that. I;’d guess that the airport worker took their statments and took their side that he was up to something when he obiviously was just in the wrong place when someone unleashed their attack dogs just because they could. She oicked the wrong white guy to attack.
ahhh - brings back such fond memories !
Speaking of honor codes, ODH, where exactly DID you read that “the cadet was over the legal limit, which I have also read was confirmed by a BAC test when he received medical treatment at the hospital”?
Thanks for the update!
But this is just your speculation.
