1. It wasn’t a habit. It was to impress on personnel that we are at war on home soil. We still are, although most people, both in the WH and on FR, don’t seem to get this fact.
2. We don’t wear BDUs, we wear ACUs. They are much uglier, more annoying and less effective than BDUs.
3. The beret is not gone. It is still a part of the ASU (Class A/B).
4. Wearing Class A/Bs everywhere means . . . you guessed it . . . the beret stays on.
The ASU shirt is white. Couldn’t we get tan or keep some green color? Why all white? Oh, and the ASUs cost me $600. My greens are fine, but we were forced to “upgrade.”
(1)I still hate the friggin' beret. IMHO, people wearing berets should be carrying unwrapped loaves of French bread.

(3)Apparently the same designer who was retained for Mexican Mariachi Mailman Uniforms is working the Pentagon.
(4) Given the CIC, I suppose I should be grateful that the troopers are not wearing flashing LEDs.
