As hard to believe as it is, the 4th of July is nearly upon us, and it is not too early to start making plans for grilling and outdoor entertaining before the fireworks on the 4th.

So what have you got planned for the grill this year??

Beef? Bird?? Hawg??? Burgers???? Brats????? All of the above??????

Let's talk about some early preps and plans for some good eatin' on the 4th. What I'm lookin' for is recipes for rubs, marinades, favorite smokes, and grilling/smoking techniques and tricks...

I’m not a fan of Sake either, but I do like green (and red, and yellow!) curry paste!

I’ve never considered it as a marinade until now, and I think I’ll be trying this sometime this summer. Sounds great!

A bushel of shrimp large marinated in some old bay spice an olive oil over night. Skewered onto a hunk of bamboo an grilled....

Twelve 16 oz Bonsmara 2 inch thick ribeyes chased with some cold pasta salad an our own homebrewed beer, sun tea , Crown Royal an Johnny Walker Blue to fight off dehydration. Maybe....

Enjoy the day....but stay safe !

I use a liquid fajita seasoning marinade called Dales on everything! I buy fresh boneless chicken breasts and filet them so the center thicker part gets cut and opened - the entire breast is then approximately the same thickness and cooks really well on the grill. It is still moist instead of the edges getting too well done waiting on the thicker center to cook.

McCormicks has a good rub (and I just looked and don't happen to have any to give the exact name) that is something like Spicy Sweet or Cinnamon and Chipotle - the one with a touch of cinnamon is great - I use that on ribs or a pork loin

Don’t know yet. I have a gas grill, but I’m thinking about trying my new Volcano grill using a Lodge dutch oven I just ordered from Wally World. My wife used to do all sorts of dutch oven recipes on camp outs when she led a girl scout troop.

Gotta practice for when the SHTF.

OTOH, a nice beef brisket sounds yummy.

With no rain, wind gusts and temps already reaching 109, Texas may not be grilling anything. There’s talk of outdoor fire banning. Fine by me, I’ll be inside under the A/C and fan.

That old bay shrimp is awesome with the cold pasta salad offsetting the heat. Easy cleanup as well an leftovers are even better..... Enjoy !
