Dairy delights: Eating butter and cheese 'doesn't increase risk of heart attacks'
Daily Mail ^ | May 20, 2011 | Daily Mail Reporter

It's great news for cheese and butter fans - scientists have found that eating dairy food doesn't increase your risk of a heart attack. Nutritionists surveyed thousands of middle-aged people and found that even those who ate more than half a kilo of cheese did not seem to suffer from increased risk. Contrary to earlier beliefs that saturated fat might lead to a heart attack, researchers found that nutrients in dairy products actually counteract the harmful effects.

I agree. Everything they have been telling us since the 80's is B.S.! I read Gary Taubes' book Why We Get Fat" and my reaction after I put the book down was anger. Anger at all the lies that all the nannys have been telling us for all these years. I highly recommend his book. The first half is basically him taking apart all of the "studies" that have been done throughout the years telling us fat was bad for us. The second half of the book is a very well-done telling of how the human body works in terms of how it processes what type of foods. I need to read the second half again to really get in into my brain, but, I learned a lot from that book.

When my husband read the book, he had the same reaction I did, anger.

Duh. Dr. Atkins knew this years ago. I’ve been eating low carbs for 11 years. My diet includes butter, cheese, meat, bacon, eggs, steak and I lost 20 lbs and lowered my cholesterol.

People forget the food pyramid with a carbohydrate base was a political creation by McGovern during the Carter years. There was no peer review. Within a decade Metabolic Syndrome and insulin resistance began to become epidemic.

The Atkins Diet also does amazing things to triglyceride levels. I had a lifetime (even during my most athletic years) of very high 600 to 800 levels. Within two weeks on Atkins my levels dropped to 60 and stayed there as long as I remained on very low carbohydrates.

The dietary guidelines were the most horrific act of malpractice ever committed against the American people. Liberal reality kills and causes needless suffering every time it is forced on people.

I found this little tidbit in a column last week concerning eggs and bacon:

And no, eggs and bacon aren't unhealthy. (Overeating eggs and bacon—or anything else—is what's unhealthy.) In fact, whole eggs contain more essential vitamins and minerals per calorie than any other food. They're also one of the best sources of choline, a substance your body requires to break down fat for energy. What's more, in a recent review of dozens of scientific studies, Wake Forest University researchers found no connection between egg consumption and heart disease. As for bacon, once it's been cooked it contains just 1 gram of saturated fat per slice—and one-third of that is the kind that has no effect on cholesterol levels.

I believe Pritikin may have started this anti-fat garbage and we've been being nagged at by "experts" every since. They are wrong, spectacularly wrong.

According to my research, consumption of white bread, sugar, and rice lead to hyperinsulinism, which leads to high cholesterol and heart attacks.

Pretty much what I found. What is more disturbing is the treatment for high cholesterol may very well have missed the underlying clinical disease. It is like sending Firemen to put out the smoke and ignore the fire. High Cholestrol (depending on which type) may only be a marker.

Pritikin and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PETA front group) were the ones who perpetuated the slander in regards to Dr. Atkins death.

Dr. Atkins suffered a fatal head injury when he slipped in fell on ice. His emergency treatment was pretty standard with a heavy fluid intervention to raise his blood pressure. The SOBs some how got his autopsy reports and twisted this information around to portray Dr. Atkins as disease ridden. Not one of these criminals were ever prosecuted.

For every Freepers reference they need to know that the "Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine" is a PETA front group.

The Numero UNO predictor of how long you will live unless you are shot or run over by a car is........................how old your parents and grandparents were when they died. So if grandma and grandpa are in their 90’s and mom and pop are in their 70’s, I would break out the Hagen Dazs. Genes, sanitation, medical care and nutrition are what gets you to the golden years.

Don't forget a healthy dose of common sense in that list. Stupidity makes for a short life expectancy.

I’m going to start putting cheese on my morning egg sandwiches (on whole wheat toast) from now on.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that’s bad for you. No matter how much (or little) of it you eat... Don’t do it.

It's not for eating, but if you can stand the odor, it's great for teenagers pimples.

Also, dry it out and it makes a great, sweet smelling, long burning fuel.

Because the problem with artery blocked cholesterals is not from most nature-made fats that are eaten. It is a combination of man-modified fats or a problem with the individuals metabolism, specifically the liver-spleen and related systems in digestion and waste removal.
