Right through the back door, while everyone was focused on the gulf oil spill, Barack Obama gave his signature to legislation permitting the U.S. Government to outlaw supplements and alternative health treatments.
That means that the supplements you take and therapies you use to keep your body healthy, can now be made illegal by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Obama quietly gave permission for Codex Alimentarius - the United Nation's worldwide plan for food standards - to take effect in the U.S. via Executive Order 13544 of June 10, 2010. The President's decision creates the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council, a group of 'experts' that carry out whatever activities Obama deems appropriate.
According to an article at Rense.com, after five years of fighting this bill in Congress and the House, Obama has decided to try to kill the supplement and alternative health industry; all alternative health remedies can be deemed "unscientific" and not provable by the FDA, which can lead to them being banned.
It means that supplements may have to be removed from sale permanently, or have their potency capped at ultra low levels, making them almost worthless. The very same thing happened in Europe just a few years ago.

That is a must. Four more years of Obama and we will not recover. Even then much of the damage will take years to undo if ever.
Take this supplement issue. Even if it’s eventually reversed it will likely be too late. The businesses that make these products will be gone and contrary to popular belief they don’t just magically spring back to life when something like this is undone.
When you’ve been put out of business by a sweeping government action it’s unlikely a business entity will invest the money to go back into that same business. The risk of further government action is simply too high to take the chance.
This is the same for Mortgage companies, oil companies, firearms makers, light bulb makers. the list go’s on and on.
All too true. Liberals and Marxists will never understand that it's impossible to achieve their Utopian dreams through the overpowering force of totalitarian government.

It's hard to be pleasant and give 4x forms of ID when yer blinded by a sinus attack. Those pills are a miracle.
Dude, it’ll be like drugs or prohibition...it’ll be more expensive, but available. Until a future Congress fixes the idiocy.
It this is true, it’s very odd that the companies that would be affected first and most by this haven’t done anything to notify their customers or to initiate some sort of political action.
I order supplements online from some well know distributors and haven’t heard anything about this, or anything new on CODEX.

(b) The Advisory Group shall be composed of not more than 25 membersor representatives from outside the Federal Government appointed by the President and shall include a diverse group of licensed health professionals, including integrative health practitioners who are representative of or have expertise in:
(1) worksite health promotion;
(2) community services, including community health centers;
(3) preventive medicine;
(4) health coaching;
(5) public health education;
(6) geriatrics; and
(7) rehabilitation medicine.
Not surprisingly, the Chair of The Council reports directly to the president, and is tasked with executing his mandates.
He wants control over everything we do....where we shop...what we buy...what we eat...where we live, etc., etc. Stepford PEOPLE not just Stepford wives.
I’ll suggest we just follow his example and ignore laws like this one that we don’t like.
Since this article is from 2010, I am wondering if the whatever it was that he signed is supposed to take effect on a certain date which has not yet arrived? Or they just haven’t clamped down yet?
In the EU as of May 1, no herbs are allowed to be sold. Only licensed doctors can “prescribe” herbs, no one else can sell or legally buy them anywhere. I read a while ago that in England, they made allowances so that herbalists or naturopaths who are specially “licensed” by the government may be allowed to dispense herbs. I also read that many Chinese and other herbalists and herb stores were closing up.
We are quickly devolving into a hateful fascist state. I can’t understand people who don’t see this.

I assume every EO Obama signs has a component directive to "command and control over a basic, and foundational part of our nation's infrastructure".

The feds now have the authority to build these agencies and begin implementation of this draconian law.
This sounds like something we should immediately ask our Representatives to defund those agencies ASOP. Email and call them.
Agree, no dispute, however due the efforts of accomplice majority, RINO, and Congressional wussies (altered language for family friendly site) that’s not how it is working to date.
I read the Executive Order. I dont see anything to indicate that the U.S. is adopting Codex Alimentarius.
Regardless US law takes precedence over Codex recommendations and standards. Much ado about nuttin’ here IMO.
