Holder to oil fraud panel: Report if gas prices don't fall
Washington (CNN) -- Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday ordered the newly formed government working group investigating oil and gas prices to make sure gasoline prices are dropping after this week's sudden decline in crude oil prices.
Holder sent his memo to several federal agencies, including the FBI, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the departments of Treasury, Energy and Agriculture. He also sent the directive to state attorneys general.

Question for Holder: If the CIA people were Black, would you still go after them, or do they get a free pass because they are "your people?"
Never mind the fact that todays oil price is for oil that will come in to the system 3 months from now.
Holder, why don’t you look in to Tax gouging! I think you’ll find more dirt there.
I can not buy gas, but I have to pay taxes.
I think all this posturing is preparation for government instituted price controls. And, yes, I DO believe they are stupid enough to do it again.
That is over his head.
Yes...isn’t the price at the pump driven more by what station owners are paying at that moment for gasoline than the price of crude oil?
The regime is getting worried. The sheeple are getting restless.
Yeah, but if he looked at it that way it would be much more difficult to establish a predicate for taking over the oil companies.
Skin color uber alles.
Facts! Facts! Facts!
You and your facts.
It’s hype that important.
Burn the witch she turned me into a newt!
He gets it but it's over the heads of most voters. Price controls would be a blatant maneuver to buy votes now the Leftist media has done its job of depicting oil companies and futures traders as "evil."

Why Isn’t Obama Celebrating High Oil Prices?
By David Harsanyi
It’s about time the administration began taking on the ogres of the left’s imagination seriously. Attorney General Eric Holder has formed the “Oil and Gas Price Fraud Working Group to Focus on Energy Markets” to expose the speculators, the gougers and those fat cat millionaires. And if we can’t confront make-believe distractions with “working groups,” well, we are surely a nation in decline.
But of course, Holder will find the biggest frauds right in his administration, which — as a matter of policy, as a matter of faith — believes the price of fossil fuels ought to be extortionate and has done all it can to ensure it.
Oil Refineries In Columbia, But Not The U.S.
Submitted by Kevin Wright on April 19, 2011 - 9:46am
Yesterday, Terence P. Jeffrey of CNS News reported the Presidentially-appointed board of directors of the U.S. Export-Import Bank, an agency of the federal government, authorized financing for a $2.84 billion expansion and upgrade of an oil refinery in Cartagena, Columbia. Does it strike you at all as odd that while this agency is providing financing to a foreign country to refine oil, our own countrys ability to refine oil is on the decline?
Consider this:
There hasnt been a new refinery built in the U.S. since 1976. . . (John W. Schoen, U.S. Refiners Stretch To Meet Demand, MSNBC, 11/22/04)
There are 148 operating refineries in the United States, down from 324 in 1981. (Eleanor Stables, H.R. 3893: Gasoline For Americas Security Act Of 2005, CQ BillAnalysis, 10/8/05)
Refined petroleum product imports are currently projected to grow from 7.9 percent to 10.7 percent of total refined product by 2025 to satisfy increasing demand. (Eleanor Stables, H.R. 3893: Gasoline For Americas Security Act Of 2005, CQ BillAnalysis, 10/8/05)
