I’m sure some poor radar operator pissed himself when he or she first saw the return climbing at such a high rate of speed...
Small return, appears suddenly already at a high rate of speed and accelerating.
Yep I’m sure some where some alarm bells went off and the pucker factor was high until it began maneuvering...
That thing is Dangerous!
That’s impressive.
I’d worry about losing control of even such a small plane at that velocity. If it hit a stick-built home, I’m pretty sure it could penetrate an exterior wall.
Very cool. And the right sound :).
Freaking amazing!
How do they not lose control of it when it goes that fast and far?
Does “RC” these days really mean Satellite/GPS control? Like with a Predator drone?
They REALLY need to put a camera in the nose of that thing!
BTW, great flight control, landed it right at their feet, too.
Someone could get an eye poked out with that thing.
The tech strides made since then simply astound me.
Also, the pilot has to be damned good because things happen fast at those speeds.
A small loss of perspective will be magnified 10 fold...and I would probably augur it the first time up.
I'm most surprised at the glide ability of that thing, though, as most jet-powered RC's will usually glide like a rock.
I got pretty good with a P-51 Mustang, but compared to that jet, it was a dog.
Impressive!
An RC glider went 468MPH in Norco California.
NO ENGINES!
Check out Dynamic Soaring on Youtube.
Great flying! They landed it at their feet!
Nice motor, too!
That is nuts! Man, it flies so fast that you basically have about 1-2 seconds before the thing is out of sight!
It wouldn’t take much to make that a very dangerous toy. With that speed and inertia and just a small shaped charge, you’d have a flying bomb. I am surprised that the ATF isn’t monitoring those things.
Doesn’t take much to see that danger in that thing.
Unfreeking believable. voices sounded German - can’t believe a jet engine is available like this.
is this real?
it looks more like an RC timed to coincide with a full size demo
the sounds coming form the RC do not fit the engine size or the sounds made when it was at takeoff
that said, it is still impressive to fly something moving even that fast
Check this one out. F14 Tomcat with DUAL jet engines. And full take off and landing. They have had the “jetcat” engines for about 8 years now. I just could never afford the 6 to 7k entry fee for the small ones.

Jet engines for model planes will more than likely be outlawed soon.
ya...../s
That is beyond way cool! The hours to build that have to be in the thousands and it wouldnt take but a second to end it in a million pieces. The guy is a damn good no great stick.
