As part of the a long standing tradition Buckingham Palace and HRM Queen Elizabeth has bestowed new titles on Prince William and his new bride Kate Middleton as part of the Royal Wedding.
William is now the Baron Carrickfergus, Duke of Cambridge and Earl of Strathearn which links him to Ireland and Scotland as well as England. His grandmother Queen Elizabeth has given him these titles to mark his wedding day. His new bride also takes on the the titles.
The palace released a statement which read "The queen has today been pleased to confer a dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus
Prince William thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and Miss Catherine Middleton on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge."

And then there is that. Can we give it a rest and sell some commemorative plates already? LOL

Almost all little girls want to be a Princess at some time or another, and every little boy wants to be a Knight in Shining Armor. Every young lady wants to meet her “Prince Charming”.
Finally “ A man’s house is his Castle, most women like to be treated like a “Queen” now and again.
It’s still in our culture, and for the most part a harmless diversion.
The funniest thing I saw, or heard throughout the whole ordeal were the comments, mostly here, about how snarky, and snotty the American press’ coverage was. I couldn’t believe no one guessed why. They were all angry that the Obozo, and first Wookie weren’t invited. Their coverage was completely biased by it. Go back and compare the fawning coverage of Charles and Diana’s wedding.
Very funny to me that the Obozo worshipers in the MSM can’t even be happy for someone being married, without applying the “How does it affect the messiah?” attitude.
My first thought - I didn’t know either of them played golf. Glad I’m not the only one who responded that way.
Only Northern Ireland.
