Yesterday we found out some amazing information. In one of Andrea Rossi's question and answer sessions on his blog he was asked some questions to which he gave some startling answers.
How many e-cats are in continuous operation today? - 97 How many geographic locations are e-cats running today? - 4 Are there any e-cats running in the US with businesses you own or individuals you trust? - YES
So to recap on this, Rossi is saying that at this moment there are 97 e-cats installed and working accross 4 different countries, with some already installed in the businesses of trusted individuals. The 4 countries are presumably USA (Rossi's Company Leonardo Corp), Italy, Greece and it's anyone's guess what the 4th one is.
Andrea Rossi is the inventor of the e-cat (energy catalyzer). A commercially viable cold fusion technology which is going into full production later this year. If you are new to the story and need some some quick facts on this remarkable technology please watch this video.
Please share this information as far and as wide as possible as we are encountering a high level of resistance in the mainstream media over the non-coverage of this important discovery.
Indeed. The treatment of legitimate scientists who say that "cold fusion" just "might" be valid ranks up there with the "hide the decline" emails controversy about "global warming". The treatment by the physics/academic community of Peter Hagelstein is just on horrible example. In neither case have the "mainstream physicists" covered themselves with glory for their upholding of scientific ethics.

When we examine the graduates of American schools and universities we must admit that they are effective at shaping our culture. Ridiculing anyone who dares to think outside the box is mandatory for anyone who wishes to graduate with a degree.
Which might further explain why developements of this order of magnitude may tend to circumvent the "Academic" establishment.

He will soon have enough demo plants, running for long enough, that somebody is going to step up and offer him a deal: "You supply the e-cat technology, I'll supply the boiler, turbine, generator, and electric gear. We split the electricity revenue 50-50. Your stuff does not produce, you get nothing". See what happens then.
There's probably several coal-fired plants in the US on the edge of having to shut down because they can't meet EPA demands.
That has already been turned down. He seems to be angling to get a bigger piece of the revenue than a half share.
I hope his equipment works, and I hope he carves his own empire.
You know, the most glaring red light that all these web sites have pointed out is that this group wasn’t allow to bring their own radiation detectors nor get gamma ray data from the experiment. You can’t have a nuclear reaction without radiation.
Reading that, makes me go, there is your smoking gun. There is absolutely zero risk that this data would help you reverse engineer the device, it could only have pointed to fraud due to a lack of an active reaction.
The one simplest test, with zero risk to the inventor, isn’t allowed. .....................hmmmm

Sends up a red light for me as well - that such a limit was put on those validating the results. Sounds too much to me like the global warming claims where the data cannot be produced for others to validate the claims.
Current physics theory says that you can't have fusion without gamma. Then again, current physics theory says that you can't have low-temperature fusion in the first place. If this is not an elaborate hoax, current physics is going to need some re-writing.
I'm really more interested in seeing an e-cat operate for a long time, at high power levels, in an independently-supervised location.
Ten percent of something beats one hundred percent of nothing. For his first electric-generating demo, he should be aiming at something that provides an unassailable demo of the viability of his e-cat, for not much more than his expenses, with the stipulation that additional units give him much a much bigger percentage of the revenues.
I'd like the Swedish physicists he showed it to, to convince the University of Stockholm to spring for a co-generation plant for the university. Sweden is cold enough that it must cost a bit to keep the buildings heated and lit.
You avoided the larger issue - the fact that significant conditions were put on the observations. Which really calls into question the underlying claims.
It’s my understanding that Rossi has handed over a unit for study to Uppsala University in Sweden.
Somewhere in the next six months, Rossi is supposed to have a megawatt-scale thermal unit going in Greece. Either he starts putting out commercial-levels of power, or people will lose interest in him and his claims. Put up or shut up time for him.

How many hours do you guess this man has worked in close proximity to his experiment? If it was emitting any radiation at all he would be as bald as an egg and his face would be smoother than a babies butt.
I think you’re going to be quite upset when Rossi gets it going full blast and the worlds physicists end up with crap all over themselves for refusing to believe in new ideas.
And you miss the point as well. The issue is that the monitoring was restricted.

Unlike you, I don't have anything emotionally invested in this issue, one way or the other. I would actually like this to be true. But I also see all the signs of a shyster and I refuse to put objectivity aside in the name of wishful thinking.

Rossi says his gizmo DOES emit gamma rays, hence the lead shielding around it when it is operating.
He also gave the specific reason for NOT permitting radiation detection equipment....that measuring those gamma rays would be a direct giveaway as to how his "catalyst" works.
And no, you don't need to detect gamma rays to validate the device. The gigantic amount of heat generated is plenty sufficient to be convincing. PLEASE take the time to read CAREFULLY the various descriptions of the three demonstrations. I'm no physicist, so I can't say anything about the possible mechanism, but I'm a darned good experimentalist, as the setups they used make absolute sense.
Keep in mind, too, that one of the Swedish physicists is past chairman of the Swedish Skeptics Society, one of whose major purposes is snooping out these kinds of fraud.

If he was a shyster he would have snatched my 200K and ran with it. Instead what did he do? He turned me down and never looked back. I will be very shocked and disappointed if his experiment doesn’t put out enough to make it a commercial success.
