'Where are the black people?' asks Sherri Shepherd as The View hosts discuss Royal Wedding

Never mind who wore what, the View's Sherri Shepherd had another burning question about the Royal Wedding today.

'Where are the black people?' the outspoken actress, 44, asked as the panellists as they critiqued Prince William and Kate Middleton's ceremony.

The star said she had earlier searched through the footage of guests at Westminster Abbey.

'Audrey Jones our producer was looking for the black people in the wedding and we found our Rosa Parks moment, because we were like 'where are the black people'?' she said.

'It was like where's Waldo, where are the black people?' she added.

'We found one little black child in the choir but where's the black people at this wedding?' she continued.

'Wait a minute the Calvary guy, from New York,' said Goldie Hawn, 65, who was a guest host for the day.

'Well the guests, there they are,' said Sherri, pointing to a screen showing a small group of black people in the congregation.

'They are segregated but they are at the front so we have our Rosa Parks moment,' she added referring to the African-American civil rights activist Rosa Parks who refused to obey a bus driver's order to give up her seat for a white passenger on December 1, 1955.

'I don't know why they put all the black people over here but they are at the front of the wedding so I ain't complaining, they got in the front,' added Sherri.

The women also mocked the Queen and the dresses of princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

I agree, the veil didn’t quite work, and I wasn’t excited about the tiara. (I know the tiara has history behind it but it didn’t really work with the veil, or the shape of her face.) And yes, she is beautiful, and appears to be reasonably nice as well. If Wills is nice *to* her (as he seems to be — unlike his emotionally stunted father was with his mom) then maybe it will all be okay for the long haul. Hope so. :)

Photographers . . . .Agreed, mainstreaming of the lifestyle plus Princess Diana was a great friend or fan of Elton John. They were dressed and acting appropriately in the photo. If their lifestyle hadn't been broadcast around the planet, I wouldn't have had a clue, just two men at a wedding. Really, if there hadn't been a caption, I'm not sure I would have recognized either one, maybe Elton if I'd looked long enough at it.

Nazi movement riddled with "alternate lifestyle people" . . I'd read that, probably was. I grew up rather shielded from all that until I got to college. I've never really talked to any man who admitted he was homosexually oriented, know they're out there. I have had conservations with several lesbians. It was easier before I knew this stuff.

There was a female very blonde and fairly attractive cop the camera panned in on with a very butch haircut, her voice was very feminine but authoritative as the occasion demanded. A second or two in, I think, "Is she?" I liked it better when my mind didn't go there. I photographed a race where two women waved at me in such a friendly manner, made a good photo, I allowed a person the university use it (and a several others I had) free in his publication geared to the elderly. So I get my photos downloaded and start scrolling through them, my 40'ish daughter is looking at them. When that photo came up, she said "they're lesbians". I asked why she said that, I never thought that at all. She thinks you can just tell. I'm sorry, I can't, unless the behavior is far more obvious than that.

Yes on a more positive note, I was sorry I didn't get up early enough to see the whole thing but think it would have been quite long for my attention span. Will and Harry are my 11th cousins (barring research errors and such), couldn't help thinking of that today; such different lives you'd hardly find. And most of us in America have famous cousins of one sort or another, pretty far in degree. So there was that.

It was beautiful what I saw, such joy by the wedding party and crowd (the queen is always so darn reserved, guess it's habit, you wonder if she ever has a good laugh or does anything casual or fun). But the bride is such a striking beauty to me. I marvel that England can produce such a beautiful woman and a commoner at that. Her voice is so quiet, I wished she'd spoken just a little louder but think it's the way she is but no shrinking violet. I hope it turns out well, too. Why not? There's enough misery in the world. Was sorry Di couldn't have lived to see it, she'd almost have to have been invited. Probably felt like clawing Camilla's eyes out. Very sad how that went down with Charles and dying so young. She was not a natural blonde but usually so sparkling and pretty.

And Catherine, didn't bleach her pretty brown hair and wore it long. She exudes inner beauty, too. Oh, I wrote too darn much. I just can't help reflecting on the day.

And it didn't rain, lovely day for a wedding.

Clue: He was a guest at the wedding, even if Sherri didn’t notice him

The British are Anglo-Saxons.

This was a British event.

Where are all of the Anglo-Saxon people at a hip-hop concert?

Perhaps at various black peoples' weddings where there are no white people.

Where are the black people?

They were at Cape Canaveral trying to upstage the event of the day and have the news focus on their regal endeavors.

I can’t believe I’m allowed to live here with no black people as my neighbors, the shock and horror.

I’m so sick of these idiots looking at a crowd and the first thing they do is look for a black people, if no blacks then look for muslims, hispanics etc

Find a black area, crowd etc and suddenly these racists don’t go looking for a white person

racism is just as bad in the north as the south so I’m not sure where you get your idea it is worse in the south, look at Detroit, Boston, hell even today in Boston, Chicago, Philly etc

"less diverse"

The main percentage of African-Americans are concentrated in the larger cities. In the Midwest where I live, there are large areas that have minuscule black populations. In the nineteen-sixties, my hometown of La Crosse, Wisconsin had exactly one black family living there while I was growing up out of a total population of 50K. Today, La Crosee has about five hundred black people constituting one percent of the city's population. Many towns and cities in the Midwest are like La Crosse. You can look for a long time in those places without seeing a black person.

you noticed it what on earth did you look at people or their color from the get go?

We noticed it because the camera kept showing that one little section over and over and over again. The first half dozen times you wouldn't notice anything but after that the same boring shot becomes annoying so you begin to question why. It's obvious they were showing that section of seats for some purpose. Don't blame me as I didn't make the seating chart and wasn't in the tv editing room.

Fergie wasn’t invited because she was caught in a bribe scandal - tryng to sell access to her ex (Prince Andrew) for 500,000 pounds. Caught on tape.

Whoa, hadn't heard that. That would get her kicked off the invite list but it's way below Chuck and Camilla's affair all during his marriage to the groom's mother which put her in the position to be in Paris that night.
