We need prayers!
My 95 year old mother, Virgina, did not wake up this morning. She is still only semi-responsive in the emergency room at Sutter Memorial Hospital. When I arrived there from Stockton at 10:30AM here blood pressure was 53 over 37 and her O2 saturation level was 62%. I took her hand, which was very cold, and said "Hi Mom!" and she opened one eye and looked at me. When I asked her how she felt she mumbled "Awful!"
She then went back to being only semi-responsive.
Her BP is now much better and O2 is up to 87% on 100% oxygen... But she is still out of it.
The diagnosis is double pneumonia... But there also may be congestive heart failure.
At her age, I just want her not to suffer... Whether she is called home to God or recovers. What I fear is the horrid middle ground where she winds up with no quality of life in a nursing home and doesn't know who she is, who her family is, or what is happening to her and lingers forever in a medical limbo. She has left orders for no extraordinary measures to save her... And we will honor that. So prayers are needed for the best resolution for her... But God's will be done.
Will pray for you and your mother.
This is a hard time. Be there.
Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.
Prayer for the Sick
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love’s sake. Amen.
Adding prayers
Of course. May she and all who love her be comforted.
Swordmaker,
I neglected to respond last night, but you and your mother are in my prayers. His will be done.
My 94 YO mother was almost identical to yours last July...except she hadn’t recognized us and had been bedridden for 5 years. You both are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Give yours a hug from me.

Swordmaker, you have my most sincere prayers, as does your mother.
We just went through this last week in my family. Our parent, however, wanted every heroic measure possible. I think your mother has made the wiser choice and that your attitude about her is the ultimate in love and concern.
Lord, please bless this wonderful mother and, when the time is right, allow her the grace of a happy death, free from pain, fear, and anxiety. Allow her to say everything she needs to say to loved ones and allow loved ones the opportunity to say everything they need to express to her. Allow her to be enveloped in Your Love and Light, and in the love of her family, and grant her the gift of being escorted into eternal Life by all her loved ones who are already in Heaven. Please help Swordmaker and his family to endure the difficult days ahead and to feel your tangible Love every day of the journey. Give them strength and wisdom that will last a lifetime. I ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen
Lord Our God, be near Thy servant Virginia in the hour of her trial.
Holy Mary, pray for Virginia to Thy Son Our Savior Lord.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, in the company of saints in Heaven we pray, amen.
Prayers for God’s blessings on all.
Prayers for your mom.
My 95 year old mother needs your prayers for a peaceful trip home to God. She will not survive this pneumonia that caused her not to wake up yesterday morning.
The hospitaliist tells us that the infection is taking over. Her body has gone septic and she can’t fight back against the invasion. She has only hours left. At this time we are only taking steps to make her comfortable.
Please pray that her passing is peaceful and quick, with the least amount of suffering possible.
I am praying now.
God Bless your Mom.
So sorry, Swordmaker. Continued prayers.

I just saw this. As soon as I’m done typing I will pray for her to have no suffering and peace. But I will include a prayer for you and your family and all who know and love her. I’ve also been thru the loss of my Mom, it’s not easy no matter the timing. May God hold you in His hand thru this, and give you His peace. And know that you will see her again. I think that for your Mom the time will pass in the blink of an eye, it’s for us that the waiting is long.
God bless you all.
If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.
Prayers for your mother.
